The GAA thread - part deux

I’d refer to gaelic football and as gaelic and association football as football.

Irish people call it soccer. I’ve lived here all my life, i know the language …

I haven’t.

You have though, there is no soccer federation in Ireland. It’s the Football Association of Ireland.

People from a GAA background call it soccer. You probably wouldn’t understand.

They call it football.

Take it up with the FAI.

I’m telling you what the people of Ireland call it…

I’m Italian, we call it calcio but in Ireland they call it football.

The FAI, Football Association of Ireland

I know what they call it.

Football Association of Ireland

People from different traditions and backgrounds call it different words. GAA people refer to Gaelic football as football and soccer as soccer. As a foreigner you may not understand.

You really don’t understand how deeply British indoctrination has affected you. It’s soccer in Ireland outside the pale.

It’s the Football Association of Ireland. They call it soccer in America.

You’ve watched too much MTV.

I understand that football people in Ireland call it football. Muldoons seem to go with the yank term of soccer.

If you have been educated in the British schools system I understand your indoctrination to their way of thinking in this matter

Interesting that you take your directive from West Brit media outlets than the Football Association of Ireland.

Is the league going ahead in May or what’s the latest?
