They would need an Irish presenter anyway, maybe Daragh Moloney will be poached. I bet Paul Galvin will be involved, likely as a panelist.
The sexy Rachel Wyse i suppose could be an option for presenting duties.
I canât wait for the first hurling match broadcast in 3D
I heard the bookies have suspended betting on Wyse. I have never seen her on tv only read two of her articles in the independent and find her to be a stupid annoying twat so Iâm sure she will be a shit presenter and ask shit questions.
Theyâll get a few heads the brits recognise.
Yer man OâDowd played minor for the sheepstealers didnât he? Heâll do.
That OâLeary lad who presents that karaoke show can be drafted in for any Wexford matches.
Jim Corr?
Good shout. Galvin would be a perfect fit.
Thunderstruck. With a montage of Andy coen running through the kk lad in 2012
Beady Eye - Bring The Light
Wayne Mc flattening Richie power, Tom condon battering Eoin Kelly out over the sidelineâŚ
For the average channel hopping Brit to buy into this crazy âpaddy sportâ, I would imagine Sky will want pundits that have mild accents and clear diction. This could rule out the majority of the GAA world.
Jamie carragher?
âHeart & Soulâ - A late 80âs release from big haired Irish rockers, No Sweat. A tremendously catchy tune that would capture perfectly the passion of the GAA. A high-octane montage of action clips would blend wonderfully with this song, and it might also offer the band a second chance at global fame, having faded from the spotlight rather quickly after itâs initial release.
Ha! Fair point.
It will be very interesting to see if theyâll try to make an effort to explain Gaelic games, rules, the skills etc.
Iâm not convinced that a majority of non Irish people marvel at hurling when they see it first as much as some Irish people think. Most foreigners I ask about it have always perceived it to be âcrazyâ, mindless and violent. They seem surprised when I say there is loads of the different tactics, styles of play etc. But they nearly always revert back to talking about how dangerous it must be. I think much of this mindset is down to pure ignorance towards the skills and tactics of hurling in particular.
I was talking to a South African recently who was giving it the usual line about âmental paddies with sticksâ and again how insanely dangerous it is. He was a big rugby fan so I was keen to point out to him how âcrazy and pointlessâ rugby mauls and scrums must look to an outsider and nobody I knew of had ever ended up in a wheelchair from playing GAA.
Ps that was a poor joke about my incipient dementia.

Pfft
The good thing for Sky is a lof of current or past footballers have a keen interest in Gaelic games⌠Roy Keane and Niall Quinn being two of the biggest. No doubt celebs and ex footballers will be rolled out to like the lads to give it credibility.
I would like to see Cecil Martin involved in some capacity
Are you sure?
