@flattythehurdler hope hopper is ready to go to war over the objecting pubs trying to kill the Christmas market beer tent.
He is. A local rival to the Roisin by all accounts. Tried to get Steiners banned first and may have been successful. Now trying to get the whole thing curtailed. It’s not like the main protagonist is short of money either.
I heard before that Roisin got the gigs at Carnmore airport cancelled for good doing similar whinging but it’s not nice. Most of the folk going beer tent aren’t drinkers anyways and would never venture to the likes of Taylors, McGinns etc.

Wasn’t either of those as the ringleader afaik.
Had heard Monroes canvassed the town for objectors and didn’t have too much trouble finding them.

Mostly students but yes. Not a whole heap of trouble either and a good draw to the markets. Seems an odd one, but politics and the like.

It did! Also had rarely seen decent public transport for the gigs. But Roisin are heavily involved in the Arts festival and MCD weren’t seeing enough sellout gigs for the airport gigs I’d say.

They can’t sell one litre steins mid week. Is that just steins or have they to close mid week?

Sadly it’s no longer with us. A great spot for bidness types to mingle and talk in big numbers while the proletariat made do with Hino in plastic glasses. But Hey! We were a real country then.
The fact that we had too many houses 20 years ago bear this out.
