Hurling twice as popular
Well, well wellâŚ
Not a Galway fan then?
I had no idea hurling was so popular.

Pretty abysmal to only attract 20% of your fan base to watch the game on TV.
I suppose itâs hard to generate interest when people already know how it finishes.
huh?
Over one million people tuned in to watch yesterdayâs All-Ireland footbal final between Dublin and Mayo, making the match the most-watched show on Irish television so far this year, writes Denise OâDonoghue.
Figures released by RTĂ show Dublinâs nail-biting win over Mayo yesterday drew an average audience of 1,137,500 to RTĂ2âs live coverage of the game.
80.65% of all those watching TV at the time were tuned-in to The Sunday Game Live on RTĂ2.

The TV audience peaked at over 1.3 million people as Dean Rock pointed the winning free for Dublin (17:11) sealing a first three-in-a-row for the Dubs since the 1920s.
It also saw the highest volume of live streams for any football final ever on RTĂ Player and the strongest volume of live streams for any Sunday Game Live ever.
Total live streams reached 107,451 which includes 2,379 live streams of the Irish commentary version.
So both finals smashed records and attendances are way up â 2017 was one hell of a year.
I always wonder about these freaks who tune in for the last few minutes only. What kind of weirdo plans to just catch the last few minutes of a national final rather than taking in the entire spectacle? Presumably the likes of that freak @ChocolateMice preening at himself down in the gym and then coming home for the end of it or lads switching over at half time in Super Sunday.
Incredible scenes. 4 in every 5 people watching TV were watching the game, 100k streaming it online and another 80k at the match. Probably another few thousand watching on Sky as well. Box Office.
The G, the G, The G, A, A
Letâs wait until the official figures come out.
Wheres the fun in that?
It was on in the gym, mate â â I was on the couch for the second half. It was only football ffs.
Itâll be interesting to compare the figures to Saturdayâs showpiece football final in Tallaght Stadium.
The GGA isnât here to take part, itâs here to take over
Hurling well and truly put in itâs place by these figures.
@Little_Lord_Fauntleroy spent the 2 All Ireland Sundays watching both games live along with both versions of The Sunday Game. That tells me more than any TV ratings figures.
I watched on sky - RTEĚ are embarrassing
He hasnât given his reflections on Saturdayâs league cup final .
