Sorry wrong thread

Just a week away now from one of the televisual highlights of the year. Itā€™s up there with the Eurovision in terms of anticipation.

How long are they at these giant pallet bonfires? Have they gotten bigger in more recent year?

Fellas with absolutely nothing to be doing only selling drugs, baitin the shit out of each other and stacking pallets. Iā€™d like to see it in my lifetime but the border poll will be complete carnage. These lads will never stop. Only old age and maybe falling off the top of it. Loads of young fellas at it too.

Nearly there now.

Didnā€™t a fella fall to his death off one last year. Makes no odds to them. Just build them bigger and higher.

Did BBC reduce their coverage last year?
Iā€™ve a recollection that the brethren were annoyed with the national broadcaster.

Will Walter Love be providing play by play analysis

Surely enough of them in Buttevant for an aul March?

I doubt Walter will be involved this year. Heā€™s still presenting Jazz Club on Radio Ulster but he sounds fairly shook.

However at 88 years of age I donā€™t think anybody will begrudge him stepping down from Twelfth duties. Heā€™s given some service to Protestantism, Orangeism and Britishness, and for that we can only thank him. He has enriched our lives.

Donā€™t be sorry that itā€™s over, be thankful it happened.

They have got bigger as the organisers control of society has reduced. The UVF announced last month that they were scaling back on one of their bonfires as a drugs raid had hit their finances.
Serious consideration being given to reducing the length of the Belfast march as well due to the participants not being able for the longer walk anymore - the youth system is failing badly and more money needs to be urgently pumped into the development academies.
