Tell em nothing lads
100% but they reacted badly to Wallis anouncing in DâExaminer that he was coaching Midelton at the same time. The âDirectorâ took this as a slight and blew a fuse. Both sides got thick and Wallis walked. To ârescueâ the situation what dirld the director do only look at who was big on the Sunday gsme and grab him. Shur what did Dalo know about developing 14 -17 year olds.
Wallis was very highly reagarded.
Exactly the type of thing we need to avoid going forward, because these appointments have a huge knock-on effect.
Cannot allow emotions cloud your judgment.
Kielyâs record in finals is now 15/0
If thats the case McKenna needs to be sidelined
No.
The man has stepped away from the day to day but in fairness it wouldnt have happened without him.
Hard to teach men that think they know it all already. Humility would be in very short supply down there.
Sure wasnât he going around boxing them in the head at minor matches
Thatâs sensational in all fairness.
What happened with Jerry Wallace/Wallis (didnât realise until today it was the latter spelling)? He was the trainer for the Cork team in early 2000s. Was he ousted to get Dalo in or what was it? Would Dalo be well regarded for his work with the academy or was he considered a bit of a spoofer?

Fuck off you Tipp bollix.
Fair enough. Maybe one of the big boys here will be kind enough to give me a response.

To answer in part by asking you a question.
What experience did Dalo have in terms of traing and developing young players prior to taking the role.??
didnât realise until today it was the latter spelli
Itâs the former.
Fair enough also. Would Wallace have had much underage experience prior to that? Genuine question - I only knew him from the Cork senior set up and from Antrim.
I dont know to be honest. Only that he was highly regarded by anyone involved including the players.
He had a track record as a coach - good at both the hurling and physical side
Beating Tipperary at Under 21 in 2015 changed the course of history.
That was the single biggest turning point on the journey and Kiely deserves full credit for that.
David McCarthy with one of the best saves ever made, won that match for Limerick. Was it Ronan Maher he made the save from? Limerick were down to 14 for a lot of that game too. Malachy steered the ship home with vital scores late on, including a clutch free under the Mackey.
A real sliding doors moment. If beaten in that then maybe Kiely doesnât get the senior job.
As it is, here we are five Munster and five All-Ireland titles later.
Yes Kiely probably goes nowhere without that win.
Maybe 2016 would have turned out better at Under 21 but that Waterford team were at the peak of their powers and unlikely to be beaten.
Hego also likely to have gone down the Football route only for that U21 run.
It was a very talented but dreadfully prepared Tipp team and im pretty sure it was Ronan Mahers shot that was saved.
Whereâs Barry OâConnell now? He was playing under 21 as an Under 17 in 2011.

Still going strong, excellent club hurler in fairness.
Would have got more of a shot with Limerick in any other era but this one.
