I have always tried to separate heart from head when it comes to the wagering of the few euros I have.
This has been difficult with the horses of Henry candy. He is such a dour loveless cunt that I cannot but take extreme pleasure from opposing his sprinters. Heaven knows I have made a pretty penny in backing against his runners and rarely if ever have I backed his horses to come out on top.
It is therefore with a sense of regret and misgivings I wish to inform the forum that I think I am going to win money in BACKING the sour fucker this Friday. For in limato I fear he has a very special animal indeed.
I listen intently to the musings of the old crank before last weekends defeat of limato to adaay. Knowing your enemy is key and I could read that the Oxfordshire weasel didn’t fancy limato over the ground.
Weather has been good so far and will continue. I cannot see limato being beaten this Friday in the commonwealth cup and in urge all those who share my hatred of Henry candy to cushion the blow of seeing the fuck rejoice in his horses victory by backing limato heavily. 3/1 now, thoroughbred candy haters got on at 7/2 immediately after adaays victory. A heart attack for henry candy between now and then would make my week.
Couldn’t agree more pal. Flagged this up on the Sport of Kings thread. I’m on at 7/2 and am confident of collecting. One thing though, he’s not running until the 19th. This horse is special.
Sorry that’s correct in terms of the date Lazarus. My hatred of the old codger blinded me to the facts.
Ballybay for drinking tae and Monaghan for brandy
There’s no bigger bollocks in the racing game than that fucker, Henry Candy.
Limato needs very quick ground.
and being honest forgotten rules is more of a sure thing.
Ok, I’ll blindly follow you. You seem in the know 9 times of 10 in fairness.
One needs very fast, the other needs a cut. Looking at the weather Forgotten Rules an unlikely runner.
Well said. A Limato/Sole Power double to bring us untold riches
Limato’s lack of physical progress from two to three has led to trainer Henry Candy casting doubts on the sprinter’s chances in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot on Friday.
The Paul Jacobs-owned Limato swept all before him as a two-year-old, winning all four starts, and his position as favourite for the inaugural Commonwealth Cup, for which he is a general 3-1, was strengthened when he made a winning reappearance at Ascot in April.
Limato forfeited his unbeaten record when second to Adaay in the Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock last month and while the ground was initially offered as the reason for defeat, Candy on Sunday warned the lack of physical development from Limato means the advantage he enjoyed as a juvenile has been worn away.
Candy said on Racing UK: "I don’t think he should be a short-priced favourite [for Ascot]. He hasn’t developed or changed very much since a two-year-old.
"Okay, he still has an engine as he showed at Ascot, but I have a horrible feeling the other horses are catching him up now.
“He’s good [in general]. The Haydock race did take a little bit out of him and he’s no good on sticky ground like it was there.”
Typical Henry Candy mind games. Other horses will read that and become complacent. I expect Limato to win comfortably enough.
Limato misses July Cup
after Royal Ascot effort
BY GRAHAM DENCH 2:50PM 2 JUL 2015
LIMATO will miss next Saturday’s Darley July Cup, for which he was widely quoted as third or fourth favourite at as short as 10-1. However, connections hope to have him back on the track later in the season.
Having carried all before him as a juvenile, finishing off a spectacular campaign by posting a Racing Post Rating of 116 in Redcar’s Totepool Two-Year-Old Trophy, Henry Candy’s gelding had made a successful reappearance in a Group 3 at Ascot in April.
However, he lost his unbeaten record when second to Adaay in Haydock’s Sandy Lane Stakes and was second again, beaten three and three quarter lengths by Muhaarar, in the new Group 1 Commonwealth Cup for three-year-olds at Royal Ascot last time.
Candy confirmed: “His race at Royal Ascot took more out of him than I first thought and he’s on the easy list, so I’m afraid he won’t be running at Newmarket. We will know more next week, but we hope to have him back on track before too long.”
Betting on the July Cup is dominated by Muhaarar and the Australian sprinter Brazen Beau, who was just touched off by Wesley Ward’s Undrafted in Royal Ascot’s Diamond Jubilee Stakes. The pair dispute favouritism at around the 7-2 mark.
Limato obliges at 9/2 in the 7f group 2 at Doncaster for friend of the forum Henry Candy.
It’s incredulous that this post only got one like
Thanks Fran.
I was quite proud of it, though all the credit must go to the fantastic prose of Croppy
no doubt candy and his Oxfordshire cronnies filled their Wellington boots. They may think that they have won but in squandering the talent of limato, candy and his yard have wasted one of natures finest equine gifts. A group 2 at Donnie should be beneath this fine beast at this stage. No Henry I didn’t back limato so go now to your grave you spiteful old cunt with one more petty victory.
Twilight Son, another smart sprinter from Henry Candy’s yard, makes his seasonal debut in the next at York.
