I survived the earthquake in Dublin in 1985.
I survived the earth moving when God Saving the Queen was sang at Croke Park.
The mid 80s were a golden age for Irish seismic activity as Dublin also felt the effects of a 5.4 quake in July 1984.
With the recent Ballina earthquake it seems those halcyon days may be returning. I was delighted to be photographed with some survivors of that event and their flag which marked them out as such outside the PGE Arena in Gdansk before the recent Ireland-Spain game.
5.5 (I think) in San Fransico, 17 August, 1999. Same day as Izmir in Turkey. I don’t think either were linked though.

I survived a few tremors in Wexford last night
Signing in. The capital is fine, the residents of Dublin are a resolute lot and will prove this once more. Work will continue, we will endure.
There is a collective sense of relief on the streets of Limerick this morning. But We are still standing.
