Cork Gardai let the good name of the service down

Agent Paul Reynolds will no doubt be bigging this up as a significant development

They were originally after some fella in the locality who had a penchant for stealing gas canisters according to the Netflix doc last yearšŸ˜‚

We need to go easy on the constabulary. It was a meticulously planned crime. People go on as if it was some crazed lunatic who left any amount of evidence after themselves.

Some farmer in West Cork has that gate covering a gap somewhere.

The gate was not lost.It was taken to Dublin and forensically tested. Nothing evidential was found so it was disposed of. Sold to a scrap dealer, I presume. These were pre-recycling times. What else were they supposed to do with it?
Does anyone seriously believe anybody other than Bailey killed Sophie? Hopefully, this new M-VAC Dna detection technique might help to finally nail the fucker.

Jules Thomas may hold the key to resolving this. Now that sheā€™s out from under his thumb she might be able to recall things with greater clarity.

Marie Farrell might know something too.

I thinks she is a bit of a fantasist.

I hope your powers of deduction are better than your knowledge of what scrap dealers do with scrap metal.

If Bailey were eventually to be charged and found guilty of murder, Jules could become an accessory to the fact on the basis of her giving false statements to Gardai during the initial investigation. She would be best advise to keep schtum for the present.

In theory yes, but the reality is thatā€™s unlikely to happen if she wasnā€™t staying schtum. The GardaĆ want people to come forward with evidence to crack cold cases, they know that prosecuting someone for having told a different story originally would have a chilling effect on people coming forward.

It was incredibly ballsy move by Bailey to volunteer for dna tests if he was guilty surely?

Seems theyā€™ve some new dna thing that re examine the scene. They are borrowing it off the Dutch.

You think an indictment against bailey would get to trial?

The prosecution would be quashed in jig time given the absolute fuck the cops made of the investigation

Ah stop.

The gate is gone missing. Bailey was at the scene the following morning.

How many years is it now?

The Fagan Oā€™Dowd lookalike with the beret?
