The Interesting Houses for Sale Thread

I’ll cover the Peninsula beat on this one. Couple of new ones on the market one in Sutton and one in Howth.

This is the former residence of the late President Hillery. Beside the Marine Hotel, it fronts onto Sutton Strand, the less desirable of Suttons two beaches. The Peggy Dell off the sea here has been cruel over the last winter and spring. Maybe they just need to adjust the gauge over there in Ringsend, but I’d be keeping the windows closed at low tide just in case. The back is very open to the beach as well, fine when Paddy Hillery had an armed guard but chancey enough now.

Great views but not a slam dunk bargain.

Another house with a colourful history here. The residence of car dismantler Charlie Duffy who came to prominence when he made a 20m euro settlement with CAB. Top class site, but the ott use of wood panelling wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste and I suspect a huge refit would be the order of the day.

The timber panelling in isolation could be nice but the overuse of it along with everything else yellow and orange is horrendous. You’d spend a fair amount of money refitting 4,500ft2
