It’s all trumpet I think, but I’m no expert. An all French cast picked up on the night (in Pigalle?) I’m pretty sure. Miles herded them into a studio and they improvised watching scenes from the movie.

He was some boy. I read that he gave Kelly, Coltrane, Adderley etc, rough scores of Kind of Blue to mess around with, their messing around became possibly the greatest jazz record ever.

Charles Mingus - Dizzy Moods

RIP McCoy Tyner, last surviving member of the John Coltrane quartet, arguably the greatest group of musicians America has known. This is from 1961, a 23 year old Tyner with an absolutely genius solo from just after 2.00 to 7.00.
