Incredible scenes here as that New York song by Alicia Keys is blasting and I mean BLASTING from the tannoy (brand name) system at Croke Park as New York under captain Jonathan Glynn defeat Tyrone in front of a HUGE crowd at Crow Park in this yearâs NickEy Rackard Cup Final.
Best of luck @glenshane
Kerry have 15 wides hit and are nine down.
Derry way sharper taking scores.
Kerry may regret choosing Derry
Goal Kerry. Ronan Walsh after taking control here.
5 in it. Plenty time. But theyâd want to get the radars working.
Beautiful goal from the Derry FF and a quick fire point after and itâs back to nine. Derrys day it would seem
I watched Derry vs Wicklow in the first match of the Christy Ring and they were awful. Got beat and Kerry hit 8.28 vs Wicklow. Canât believe Derry are winning this.
Itâs some collapse by Kerry since the penultimate round.
Derry never feared Kerry in Croker once the game is ruled fairly for both teams
Serves Kerry right for how they approached the season
Derry have responded brilliantly any time Kerry started reeling them in
Weâre a hurling county
Ye certainly are.
how do you mean ?
They gave the league their best shot and were promoted, hammered out the gate by Laois in the final but that is because Laois are a level ahead of Kerry presently rather than Kerry not giving it a good shot
Kerry gave the Christy Ring their best shot and were beaten twice in the competition by Derry including in the final. Kerry picked their strongest team to play Derry in the final round robin match in Derry even though Kerry had already qualified for the final at that stage.
So I really dont get the basis or context of your comment
The result in the Christy Ring final sums up the standard of Kerry hurling at this time. Not good enough for the Joe McDonagh at this time
Now there was a lot of foolish talk amongst some in kerry hurling that Kerry would stroll their way out of the Christy Ring cup in 2026, but this was among a cohort of hurling supporters rather than players or management
I was only mildly surprised at the result in the Ring final and wouldnt be in the slightest bit surprised if kerry came up short again in 2027 in terms of winning it I am sad to say
I am not sure they did. Kerry brought their strongest team up to Derry in the final round robin match, if they were choosing Derry they would have fielded a few of subs/extended panel
Kerry are no great shakes. were beaten fair and square by Donegal in the league last year and in the christy ring this year scrapped by a a 14 man Donegal in Tralee
so Kerry are no great shakes presently
The clubs are not strong in Kerry at the moment, only once ever has the Kerry senior champions won the Munster intermediate club title and only occasionally reach the Munster final. So senior club hurling in Kerry isnt really senior, in fact I am not 100% the kerry senior champions would win the Munster junior. Probably would but wouldnt put big money on it
In theory Kerry should be stronger, there are are 13 clubs playing the game. It is a reasonable amount of clubs enough to win the Christy Ring you would think. Then again I would say Meath has as many.
I donât think itâs a coincidence that Kerry hurling is gone to shit since the new format came in. Half the teams finished hurling by the first week of july is not good.
there is a north kerry competition in the autumn Julio which clubs could put a bit more store in
The club format in that the county championship is wrapped up by the August wknd is far from ideal but the problems are more deep rooted than that
Squad changes
i dont understand still
Is shane Conway not playing for the county anymore? Mackessy another loss too
Some lovely Laois ladies in white pants spotted in Supervalu, Rathdowney
