This thread can be used to log land grabs in Ireland or can have global instances also.
The Kilkenny/Waterford border is largely made up of the Suir river from between Fiddown/Piltown down as far as Belview and where the Suir meets the Barrow and into the Atlantic. However, the LAND GRAB in question is shown in the pic from Google maps (see below). It’s a known fact that the border goes down the river and that’s that. What the city of Waterford have done is nothing more than a scurrilous action in taking good land off the poor South Kilkenny folk. Interestingly the so-called ‘Waterford’ Golf club is in Co. Kilkenny.
You’d hear rumblings about it alright the odd time on here but wouldn’t know all the facts. Is the Shannon used as a county border? But then the LITGG is located on the other side of the Shannon to the county…
@locke would have more support if he posted this on a Tan website. All TFK will support the native Déise over Strongbow’s spawn, with the honorable exception of Cork of course.
I worked on a project that would be on that map there where the red line ran right through the middle of the building. The planning application had to go to both Waterford and Kilkenny as a result. A right clusterfuck of a setup.
