The long and bumpy road to Super Bowl XLVI

I may have spoken too soon.

No I didn’t.

Shit, maybe I did.

DP.

Patriots losing 17-0 at half time turned it around and lead 27-17 now. Brady with 2 QB sneak TDs and a thrown TD to Branch.

Some finish to some of the games. Oakland block a FG attempt with last play of normal time, and are now in kicking position in overtime.

The second game tonight is now completely devoid of playoff consequence. Stupid fucking Jets.

Ah no. This is terrible on several levels.

You’d think Sky would have the flexibility to switch to the Chargers game. Being in Cork is a mixed blessing now. Gives me access to the red button, but broadband isn’t good enough to stream a game here.

Who rules NY? That’s right, Giants do.

San Fran with another win tonight. Not sure if they can go much further though. Smith can do great things but they surely can’t go on relying on field goals and Gore for points.

Some defence though and that’s with Willis out

A nice bitterness between both teams last night.

Giants’ Jacobs to Jets’ Ryan: ‘Time to shut up, fat boy!’

December 24, 2011 at 8:03 PM ET

All of the public, pregame snipping between the two New York teams created a nice storyline to an already-enticing matchup of rivals battling for playoff berths.

The tensions further flared hours before Saturday’s game, when the Jets placed black curtains in front of the Giants’ four Super Bowl logos in front of their MetLife Stadium locker room.

Once the game finally started, and physical play replaced pregame chatter, the Giants smacked the Jets 29-14 , putting Gang Green behind the eight ball in the AFC wild-card race. Big Blue then proceeded to take glee in reminding their rivals of their little-brother status in New York, as Giants running back Brandon Jacobs reportedly exchanged words with Jets coach Rex Ryan after the game’s final whistle.

“Time to shut up, fat boy!” Jacobs yelled at Ryan, according to The Star-Ledger .

It didn’t end there.

Jacobs told the New York Daily News that he instructed the Jets coach to “shut the (expletive) up,” and Ryan reportedly told the running back to “go (expletive) himself).”

Jacobs also told The Star-Ledger that Ryan went after him on the field “the way his pops (Buddy Ryan) went after (Kevin) Gilbride .”

When asked about the confrontation, Ryan said: “We had a private conversation. That’s all I’ll leave it as. He doesn’t like me. I respect him, but I couldn’t care less about him.”

The Giants’ chest-thumping wasn’t confined to the field or the locker room, as team spokesman Pat Hanlon took to Twitter after the game.

“On 2nd thought, to our neighbors, thanks for allowing us to visit “your” house (wink, wink),” Hanlon wrote . "We appreciate the hospitality.’

Hanlon later added : “Again, to our hosts…sorry about the mess we left behind. We’ll clean it up later. We have a big game in “your” house this week.”

Cam Newton had a sensational game the other night which may have been missed among the festivities.

4 TDs including one 99 yard throwing TD and one 49 yard rushing TD

Falcons 3/1 tonight.

Good value I reckon.

not to be for the Falcons. I actually think New Orleans are playing really well right now, and are seriously under rated. their biggest worry is that once they are out of a dome, they wont be as effective, and they might have to travel to San Fran and Lambeu field, which would be 2 really tough games to get through to get to a superbowl. I dont think Green Bay are invincible though. Their defence is nearly as shit as the Patriots, they are giving up a serious amount of yardage, but get turnovers at the right time. If anything falters with their offence, I dont think their defence will save them, much like New England. But Rodgers has been absolutley unreal this year, and stopping them is easier said than done.

Rocko, that last play from Cam from last weeks game, the offensive coach said they took the play from the Disney film ‘Little Giants’!

Sky are showing the Jets/Dolphins this Sunday ffs. Big Blue vs Americas team is the only game in town as far as the NFL is concerned amongst the early kick offs this weekend.

A fcukin joke

its on channel 4. They have all the big Sunday night games at 1am or so. Sky dont show those ones. Jets/Dolphins is on at 6, and Broncos/Chiefs on at 9.

Ya, I think it was originally scheduled as an early kick off but got moved to prime time. I’ve been staying up late watching cricket this week anyway, so my body clock should be well set for it.

for Rocko.

Newton has been unreal this year. Cant wait to see how the Panthers go next year after another draft. they better load up and add to their defence. decent running backs, one super WR, they should have enough on offence to cause problems. just need to sort out defence and get moving in what is a seriously tough division. Atlanta and New Orelans will be hard to move.

Ah lovely.
