Hardly ever watch NFL but spotted this last night and said Iād see what all the hype was with Tebow.
Some match. Does he run the ball a ridiculous amount for a QB? Do other teams use that tactic much? In a few drives he made a couple of first downs on his own. Fair ballsy lad thatās for sure
Was some game, and in fairness, some performance from Tebow. He did the last thing the Steelers defence expected from a QB which was to throw the ball. They had busted coverages all over the shop because their defence was so run heavy. Tebow cut them open perfectly. The OT touchdown a prime example of it, man coeverage on one receiver on the outside, and all ten players in the box to try stuff the run. Super pace and strangth from Thomas then to make it a winning score.
To do that to the leagues best defence, sure the Patriots havent a hope next week. May as well concede now.
exactly. I fear for the Patriots next week, what with Tebow and Jesus against us. Sure Belichick is the devil too dont you know, it s the real good versus evil batle next week.
I could Croppy, but it would probably be wasted. Not being sarcastic, but you cant measure Tebow on stats. his only stats are as Skip Bayless says on that song I posted there before; all he does in win.
He had 316 yards last night on 10 passes. He had a few long passes, 51, 30, 58, 80 yards on 4 passes, and the other 6 were for about 10-15 yards on average. He had a heap of incompletions, and bar the couple of busted coverages, his passing was off, throwing high or into the dirt. The percentage of YAC on those long plays is huge too, but its more to do with credit on good running from Thomas moreso than the others. It still goes down as yardage for Tebow too tho, which inflates the figure a bit, but its there for him to exploit.
The steelers pretty much dared Denver to throw. They stood off and said, come on timmy, what have you got? and he got enough. He made 2 excellent passes on the first TD drive, nothing to do with blown coverages or YAC. 2 good throws from the pocket and nailed them. But the steelers proved one thing, you cant just let him throw and expect running all the time. Far too often they loaded the box and tried stuff the run. And whilst they did that, Denvers running game was below par) they overdid it, and the first play in OT was pretty much a summary of the game. Load up on the line of scrimmage, and a simple slant run across the middle goes for 80 yards.
As for next week, I do think the Patriots can handle him. They have 2 players back who were missing the last time, and both are big additions. Our corners arent as tackle heavy as the Steelers, so it would be rare to see them stack the box, and they will most likely stay in cover, and hope the big guys on the line and the linebackers can stop the run. Tebow will get some success though, there is not doubting that, coz the Patriots secondary is fucking useless. But I think they have enough on atack to outgun them. Branch is back in the fold, and Hernandez and Gronk are in great form. Ridley is showing a useful running game too.
He runs it more than others but didnāt even run it as much as he usually would last night. He had the Steelers in a mess as Gman grudgingly accepts. They were scared of his run threat and the threat from the conventional runners so left space downfield that he exploited ruthlessly.
