The long and bumpy road to Super Bowl XLVI

I am starting to like this NFL game now.

I had no choice but to quit on the Broncos Steelers game before the start of OT, needed to be up early this morning. Fucking Broncos

It was over before you’d brushed your teeth as it turns out

no grudgingly at all Rocko. I’m delighted those Steeler cunts were beaten. As much as I think tebow is poor, it doesnt mean I dont like him or want him to succeed. He really is box office stuff and is great to watch. Can go from terrible to outstanding in one drive, and the hype about him is great, so many people watching now because all they hear about is him. And as Bandage said earlier, Tebow’s such a likeable young man.

Could all the people who predicted divine intervention and a Tebow win please sign in !!!

Signing in obviously.

Am breathlss after watching that last night, outstanding play off football.

signing in after Detroits win too?

in fairness, if it wasnt for last nights game the whole round would have been shite enough. all the other games were blow outs really.

Saved the weekend all right. Falcons were very disappointing in earlier match.

Signing in.

signing in

Signing in.

But it was an in-game switch to back the Broncos. :o  :pint:

There is no logic in some of this stuff.

History
Pittsburgh have the best pass defence in the league.
Pittsburgh give up a total of 2 passes in the 16 game regular season of 40+ yards.
They average conceding 14.2 points a game.

Denver have the second worst passing offense in the league.
They average scoring 19 points per game. Against a team like Pittsburgh they’d be lucky to hit double figures.
They pass for on average 150 yards per game. They have had 8 40+ yard passes in the regular season.
In their last 5 games they have scored a grand total of 3 points in the 2nd quarter of their games.

So what happens?
In the 2nd quarter alone:

 1. Pittsburgh concede more points than they usually do in a full game in 15 minutes. [20]

 2. Pittsburgh concede three passes of 40 yards. More than they have conceded in their 16 previous games combined.

 3. Denver score over 6 times more than they have in their previous five 2[sup]nd[/sup] quarters combined.

In the full game:

 1. Denver match 50% of the total of 40 yard passes they had for the full season.

 2. Denver throw for 316 yards. More than double their average.

 3. Ben is still a double hard bastard. They said the swelling on his ankle won't go down for a few MONTHS...

Putting aside the freak 2nd quarter and the one play encore in overtime, Denver scored 3 points in 45 minutes of football. You can not and will not keep winning like that.

I can’t stand the Patriots but I hope they pummel the shit out of Denver.

As I said to Croppy CLD, you cant measure Tebow on stats. its fucking mental is what it is. It really is the oddest playing ability I have seen with a team that is winning. Everything says they should be useless, and realistically, they are. But somehow, they are still winning. Someone text me earlier there ‘God is on Tebows side, unfortunatley Tom Brady doesnt give a fuck’.

Even the stats from the Patriots game there a month ago was weird. Take away the first quarter, and you have 67 rushing yards, 10 points and an average of 4 yards per snap, with 2 turnovers and 4 sacks. It was diabolical. But they hammered the Patriots in that first quarter with their rushing ability. Murdered them. But once the Patriots changed the whole gameplan, they contained them pretty well.

Whats your beef with Denver though? is it the overhyping of Tebow or something that runs deeper. I would imagine pretty much everyone, including all the teams left, will be rooting for Denver on Saturday night.

im confused, god is on tebows side, but according to gman isnt tom brady god?

Seriously?

I reckon they’re winning by scoring more than the other team.

Have you not seen enough Wexford and St Mogue’s games over the years to know that you don’t have to conform to everyone’s perception of a quality style of play to bang out the results?

yeah Brady is only playing mindfuck games with Tebow

Brady aint without his faults too. He has lost his last 3 post season games in a row. Giants, Ravens and Jets.

 good analogy alright.

yeah they are scoring more (just!), but as I said earlier, you cant measure Tebow on stats. All his stats compared to others are way way below, but his main stat line is his win/loss column. at the end of it all, that is all that matters.

reckon ochocinco will get more playing time as the pats deep threat gman? thats what they seem to be lacking

nah, he is a busted flush. waste of time. too many lost routes and inconsitent running patterns. he really hasnt got to grips with it at all. Hernadez will be more of a deep threat, and Branch will be a mid range threat. Chad might get one or 2 long ones, but personally I cant see him having a huge impact.

Rumours that Brandon Lloyd wants to leave the Rams and go wherever McDaniels went to. He would be a great addition next season. Strange too, McDaniels picks in his draft at Denver were the winning TD combo yesterday.
