The long and bumpy road to Super Bowl XLVII

Ya fuckin joke of a set up

Not going to be a shoot-out here, both defenses well on top.

Eight sacks on Rodgers in the first half…

It’s taken til the final snap of the final game of week three but the scabs have at last decided a game with a ridiculous decision. Time gone Hail Mary by Russell Wilson intercepted by packers d back Jennings only for golden Tate, who had just committed the most obvious offensive pass interference got a hand on it as Jennings caught it, fell on him and won the struggle for the ball. As two umpires stood feet away, one signaling touchdown the other signaling interception. Reviewed and inexplicably ruled a touchdown.

As seen here

Unbelievable scenes. Complete farce.

Wow. Load of Packers players seething on Twitter.

Is Earl Hebner refereeing any of these games?

Are both sides THAT far from reaching agreement? Week 1 passed with no really major issues but Week 2 was bad and Week 3 has been shocking.

Only just watched the highlights there. Some of those calls are incredible.
That roughing the passer call is a joke!

And the final play, how is that not an INT?

Green Bay thoroughly rode.

And the winner of all this is…

I can just picture all the pro refs over in Mike Carey’s house last night pissing themselves laughing, smoking cigars lit of $100 bills.

Quick, someone look this up: Is there a five-point field goal option? How far away do you have to be? [s]#[/s]mnf

LOL “offensive” pass interference…you guys are so full of shit. No such thing. Why on earth would O player interfere with pass?? [s]#[/s]mnf

fucking hell. watched the game there this morning. that play at the end was comical. As bad and all as the Pats were rode the last 2 weeks with horrible plays deciding the game, none were as bad or as decisive as that one last night. a fucking jokeshop. some reporters are saying the players should go on strike. the refs are now deciding games due to their ineptitude. as CLD says, the only ones looking good out of this are the pro refs who who the NFL must now realise they have to pay and get things sorted. I have only read bits and pieces of what the strike is about, so may actually find some guide as to the key points in it.

thanks to the Onion I now know the key issues:
[]Referees allege the NFL has covered up the long-term health risks of blowing whistles
[
]NFL has declined referee’s repeated requests to once and for all please explain to them in simple language exactly what is and is not pass interference
[]Refs have filed a $1.5 million defamation of character suit against league’s replay booths, which they claim undermine their authority by constantly contradicting their decisions
[
]NFL would require every ref to be as ripped as that hunky muscleman Ed Hochuli
[]Refs want to be permitted to join in when players do a touchdown dance
[
]NFL won’t guarantee that no official will ever have to share field with Jay Cutler more than once a season
[]Refs want fully furnished three-bedroom apartment from which they can comfortably watch the game instead of exposing themselves to harm on the field
[
]NFL has demanded legally binding written guarantee that officials will never get anything wrong ever again
so it seems the main issue is that the NFL want refs to be full time, but they want them to change their pension plans which wouldnt be guaranteed. As most of the refs have other work, this would mean those pension plans they have in place would have to change, so therefore they would lose money by going full time. So because they wouldnt agree to it, the NFL has shut them out and got rid of them, technically the refs aint on strike. They earn at the moment about $4-8k per game. They need to get it fucking sorted. For the amount of money the NFL has, it would be pittance to keep the refs satisfied.

Yeah, MNF is a sacred cow in America.
I’d say there will be widespread outrage when America wakes up this morning.
NFL need to sort this quickly.

This is unbelievable
