They seem a great little brewery. I haven’t tried that one but I often buy cans of their howling gale pale ale it’s lovely tack. I was in O’Brien’s wines tonight and bought four cans for a tenner, two of those aforementioned howling gales and they had Wicklow wolf so I bought two cans of their New England pale ale. It’s very good very fruity and crisp. I’d say it’d be lovely with a meal but you wouldn’t drink say six cans of it back to back. They had a few of the Kinnegar range which I have never tried but none of them jumped out at me (think they only had two different Kinnegars on the shelves but loads of each, one appeared to be a kind of stout).
I bought cans of Moretti two weeks ago and just finishing the last two here, they are shit there’s no life or head on them. I got a box of Moretti bottles in the meantime as well and was supping a few of them Saturday night and the bottles of it are on a different planet compared to the cans. Same goes for heineken I find.
I posted in the Moretti thread about this. Somebody said it was brewed in the UK now and just wasn’t the same. You might have found a few Italian bottles but other than that it looks like it’s time to go elsewhere. Certainly is for me anyway.
Bye bye Moretti. It was good while it lasted.
The cans are from Italy
The Erdinger out of the can isn’t the same either. A very poor relation of the bottle. Unfortunately Tesco’s only do the cans now.
Bottles are always superior.
So long as they’re not plastic.
Anyone buy 200 Fathoms this year?
Any good?
First class
Not often I see one I haven’t tried. Nordie brew presumably?
I fucking love dark beer. Dunkel is lovely stuff.
Tis, from bellaghy. It’s as good as the kinnegar gear, with the prices to match.
What’s the Kinnegar Porter like
No idea yet, I’ve been looking for it for awhile.
Tipping away at this gift set.
The first one was lovely, currently drinking a German Feistbier, tis only alright.
Had a Red Ale from Dublin Brewing Company earlier. It was very nice
