Arsenal ahead after 3 mins and 4 seconds. Fuck sake.
It seems the effects of Unitedâs well-oiled merchandising machine has rubbed off on a portion of their supporters.
From Sky News:
United Fans See Red Over Munich Auction
Manchester United fans have expressed anger that scarves and programmes commemorating the Munich air crash were being sold on eBay.
The scarves were given free to fans at the weekendâs derby match between United and City at Old Trafford.
They were handed out to mark the 50th anniversary of the tragedy in which 23 people, incuding eight of the so-called Busby Babes, were killed.
A minuteâs silence was observed impeccably before the match despite fears that a small minority of City fans might disrupt it.
But the appearance of dozens of pieces of memorabilia given out for the occasion on auction site eBay has upset some fans. The site later removed the items.
Andy Mitten, editor of fanzine United We Stand, told Sky News Online: "I am saddened and disappointed that fans feel the need to profiteer like this.
âIt was a genuine gesture by the club and it was a big success - they gave out 73,000 red and white scarves and 3,000 blue and white.â
He said he suspected the people selling them were not real fans.
He said: "I donât know any United fans who would do that. They are alien to us - they are not one of us.
"I was selling the fanzine at the game yesterday and saw tourists who shouldnât have had tickets because a lot of real Manchester United fans couldnât get tickets.
"In fact someone came up to me and asked where Old Trafford was. Itâs not the easiest stadium in the world to miss.
âIf fans have an emotional attachment to the club they would not consider selling them. If they havenât, why were they in the stadium?â
The bids on eBay for scarves and programmes initially ranged between about 1 and 102.
However, several quickly looked like they were being sabotaged.
Bids for one were listed at 9,999,999 while another had reached a relatively modest 1,000,100.
Mr Mitten said he suspected these bids may have been the work of genuine fans angered at the auction.
He said: "Itâs spoiler tactics. No one would pay that sort of money. People may have set up an eBay account just to spoil it.
âI canât say I disagree. You shouldnât be profiting out of a disaster.â
The sale items were later removed by eBay. A spokeswoman said: "Due to the unique and commemorative nature of the scarves handed out at Sundayâs football match at Manchester United, eBay will not allow the sale of these items on the site.
âWe are working to ensure these listings are removed from the site immediately.â
She said the âpotential for profit to be made from human tragedyâ conflicted with the siteâs Offensive Material policy.
Let them sell the bloody things for fook sake.
So itâs alright to sell a fanzine at the game but not a scarf?
4.0. What else can you say. Fletcher and Nani really stepped it up today. Bbc going over the top about Rooney. Should have scored more with the chances he had. Made dirt of Gallas and Toure time and again.

Great to see the hunger back. We wanted it much more and dished it out to them. Nani was superb and Anderson dominated that Fabregas chap for the second time this season. A joy to watch. Need to keep up that level of performance on wednesday.
cracking result, shame itâs only the cup but hopefully it will have a psycological effect on those coonts as they were completely hammered in every area of the pitch, resorting to violence due to their inability to compete football wise. Gallas should have gone for too. Laughable dive from Adebayor - heâs obviously been watching that gerrard diving compilation on you tube. Nani was excellent, hopefully that will serve as a benchmark for future performances, while Anderson continues to lookmlike a serious talent.
Im really disapointed that United got Portsmouth at home. Not because its another Premiership side its just that I was hoping that if United got to the final they would play someone like Portsmouth. Make it a better final. Portsmouth would have had a really good chance in a one off final as they have beaten United in the past. Now if United get through they woulld have to contend with Chelsea or possibly West Brom. The 2004 fa cup semi final with Arsenal was the final in many ways as you knew that Millwall wouldnt have had a chance at all and this was shown in the final.
would you prefer if united lost a great final or won a crap one?
Win of course but for the good of the cup I would like to see a competitive final. United lost two of the worst finals I can remember(1995 Everton and Chelsea 2007) and they lost probbably the most one sided final ever(Arsenal 2005) Of course United won a pretty bad final themselves(Liverpool 1996)
As I have said in the past I think all the teams that only play league games and rest players are mad. The manager should try his best to win something for the fans. Nobody will remember the season they came 11th. If West Ham had won that final back in 06 then maybe other teams who are similar and can say maybe that can be us next season. If Portsmouth do beat United in the quarters I would hope they go all the way.
I just read over on the bbc website that Gallas has got off for the kick he gave Nani on Saturday. I think that is shocking as he clearly kicked him and that you cant raise your foot like Gallas did. I think the football association have made another bad decision. I will always go back to Rooney and Scholes getting a 3 match ban for the Amsterdam tournament. I think that as a friendly competition in another country that should have not counted towards the National league of another.
Gallas should be lynched. Itâs what folks in Alabama would have done.
Seems like Utd matters have been discussed in the Liverpool thread. You know when Rooney debuted against Fenerbache a certain Cristiano Ronaldo sat on the bench while David Bellion took his place in the starting 11.
Anyways selection dilema for Ferguson tomorrow in the midfield. Does he stick with Anderson and Carrick or bring in Hargreaves who was bought with Europe in mind or bring back Scholes. Taking these into account I will go for the following starting 11.
Van Der Sar
Brown
Vidic
Ferdinand
Evra
Ronaldo
Hargreaves
Carrick
Giggs
Tevez
Rooney
Bench
Kuszczak
OâShea
Anderson
Scholes
Nani
Fletcher
Saha

Carrick ahead of Anderson/Scholes? Are you mad?
Well Iâd like to see Anderson and Scholes start. Go out and batter Lyon from the start.
Carrick is so underated. His passing range is one of the best in the Premiership at the moment. The ball he played for Nanis goal on Saturday is proof of this. Scholes isnt fit yet and his match sharpness is lacking.
Youâd think heâd be bringing Euros with him for Lyon. Professional footballers are dumb bastards.
