The Man Utd Thread

One incident Shan…

Hardly grounds to justify your stupid signature…

Edit - I see where you have actually got rid of it now. Maybe you’ll start to take your beating like a man now…

Take his beating like a man. It would be nice of others would follow suit.

PS Chelsea are scum

From that height you probably should…

Anyway, Utd stumble from one inept performance to another. Still, all is not lost. We’re still on for the league and the champions league is up for grabs. Although we do own the squeakiest bums by far at the moment.

I saw someone this morning wearing a road to moscow shirt with all the teams that United have beaten and results. Them bootleggers work fast.

Anyway back to league business. Rooney according to the media could miss the last two league games but Ferguson is confident he will be involved in the West ham game at some stage which suggests maybe he will be on the bench. United should have enough for West Ham at home but they have been a thorn in Uniteds side since the last day of the 94/95 season.

Fantastic win. It was all over when Tevez hit that 25 plus yard screamer. Nani what a cunt. To headbutt Neill and then act like he was hurt was shocking. The red card was the correct decison.

Just saw the Nani incident and I’d say he’s fairly embarrassed about it tonight. United should definitely take the league now but beware Emile Heskey spoiling the title party next week.

So a final day showdown between United and Chelsea. It hasn’t happened since 1999 that the league went to the final minute of the season. Im glad I got the weekend off work now. Regards Wigan. Whether Steve Bruce was manager or not you would expect a United win every time over them. I seen that Terry was praising Steve Bruce after the game. Is it really needed? Wigan will go out and try to win like they would any other game.

What a result. Some nervy moments but the most important thing is that Manchester United are the Champions on points. Not goal difference Grant. Ryan Giggs you legend. Great finish just to make it sure at 2.0. Hes won it ten times, hes won it ten times, that boy Giggsy won it ten times.

Ronaldo or best ??

I dont really follow soccer but have heard a few Man u fans saying that Ronaldo is better than Gorge Best ??

I cant see it myself surely best was alot… better ?

Any of you Man U fans wish to comment , could possibly link to a new thread

Pre season starts tomorrow and the Ronaldo story will no doubt rear its ugly head again. If Madrid want him then they should do the decent thing and make an actual bid rather than trying to unsettle him by telling him to request a move.

Ferguson saying yesterday he is only looking to add one player. Obviously a centre forward will be that signing but who. If United could get Berbatov for 20 odd million plus add ons it would be great business.

The thing I find so funny about the Ronaldo thing is that United have gotten a taste of their own medicine and Ferguson starts crying to FIFA. What do you make of United’s ‘interest’ in Berbatov? How about Stam’s allegations that Ferguson tapped him up (!) which met with Ferguson getting rid of him quick smart from United? What about bringing Van Nistlerooy over to Old Trafford in his injured year when he was still a PSV player?

Very true Farmer-never thought of that.

he has also tried to screw clubs out of money by not paying the going rate for the players…to think united could have signed essien ronaldinho and robben to name three but ferguson wouldnt pony up the cash and tried to get the players to engineer the transfers instead…same thing madrid are doing with ronaldo…

NCC mentioned Farmer’s and Puke’s points on the transfer window thread before. Manchester United are merely experiencing now what they’ve done to other clubs. Previously, they were higher up the food chain but now they’re dealing with Real Madrid - a team with more European Cups, domestic league titles and a bigger stadium etc - and they don’t like the shoe being on the other foot.

That’s the way business is done these days. Contracts mean nothing anymore and big clubs use the media to unsettle targets in order to get their hands on them and if possible at a reduced price. United are just pissed off and rather humiliated to realise that their best player wants to leave them for a bigger club.

I for one think it’s great wathcing Ferguson squirm, get a taste of his own medicine, and make a complete hypocrite out of himself…

100% correct

The Gareth Barry situation at the moment is the same. Liverpool wont pay what Aston Villa are looking for as the player wants to leave. So does that make Beneitez a tap up artist?

United have the right to complain to Fifa about Reals approach. I never seen Ferguson or David Gill go to the extents to unsettle a player as Real have done to Cristiano. United probbably need Quieroz to stay on as assistant manager as he has a great deal of influence over Cristiano.

Selective memory when you’re the tappee and not the tapper.

Was wondering how long it would take for someone to introduce Barry into the argument and you know what Shan - you’re right. But as I said before that is the way business is done these days and has been like that for a while. Fergsuon has never been the victim of it before but has dished it out numerous times. Chelsea unsettled Gerrard in 2004 by offering him a pile of money to join them when he was stuill under contract but did Liverpool go crying to FIFA? No.

What is the difference between Real’s publicly known interest in Ronaldo and United’s publicly known interest in Hargreaves, for instance, at Bayern Munich? Munich said for months that he wasn’t for sale and Ferguson said things like ‘I don’t know why they won’t let him move. I mean the boy said he wants to join us.’

I dont think the Hargreves case can be called tapping up. United had tried to do a deal with Bayern Munich directly for at least a year before he came to United and finally Bayern and United came to a understanding last summer.
