2008 is the Celtics only win since 1986. You’d be doing well to have caught that on a J1 summer in Boston.

The NBA finals usually start first week in June. Game 2 of the Bulls v Lakers 1991 final was on the day I arrived in Chicago. Bulls wrapped up a first title a week later with a win on the road in LA. There was some serious rioting and looting all around Chicago to celebrate it.
A few weeks after I got home that summer, it was announced that Magic Johnson had HIV.
