British government sources say Northern Ireland is being considered to stage next year’s G8 world economic summit.

The UK is hosting the 2013 summit, and there have been reports it would be held in Co Fermanagh, at the Lough Erne golf resort a few kilometres outside Enniskillen.
Downing Street sources said Northern Ireland is among a number of locations under consideration, but said no final decision has yet been made.
The G8 summit, which brings together the world’s most powerful economies, is held every year.
This year’s meeting was in Maryland, in the US.
In 2005 the summit was staged in Scotland, at the Gleneagles golf resort.
