What are the costs of healthcare policies in your part of the world for a plan you would use yourself out of interest?
Some parts of the Irish healthcare system function very effectively and are arguably better than the private.
It varies widely based on state, individual versus family, age, how much employer covers, type of plan, etc. In broad terms, a basic plan for a young individual is about $300 a month and for a family of four about $1000 a month. It’s higher in higher cost states like CA and the north east. Employers generally cover from 50 - 67% of the cost, but as premiums have risen employers have tended to cover less.
The US health system is an absolute fiasco. You have your head up your ass if you think otherwise.
In terms of what? What experience do you have of the US health care system? None I suspect.
Most normal people think of a health care system in terms of what value they get. Other than those who can’t fend for themselves due to physical or mental ailments, the great majority of people pay for health care through taxation and insurance. In terms of quality, treatment options and outcomes, the value of health care in the US is excellent compared to the shambles that is the public health care system in Ireland.
Unless of course you think paying for a system that has you waiting for years for critical care is acceptable.
What part of the Shates are you in?
Northern CA
