Look a chara, I had enough of it generations ago. I don’t expect to be revisiting soon.
It’s all about poverty, seaweed and cockleshells and that holds little appeal. I appreciate you and your associates enjoy explaining the various nuances to modern kids who don’t give 2 fucks for Peig and her impoverished neighbours. Each to their own and all that.

I’m not an Irish teacher mate, like you I also hated it in school but reread it in later life, it’s a decent memoir of a very interesting time and place.
But that’s just my take, i spend a lot of time down there

On a lighter note I was doing a quiz one night years ago for a club in West Cavan. There were about 30 tables so we started with a round of handy ones to keep everyone’s interest piqued:
