Forgetting about the complete and utter shambless the country was in back then and who was or wasnât responsible, I always thought Cowen was an alright sort. He just had a likeable character. The time he was talking to Mary Coughlan in the dail , fucking all round him and the microphone picked it up still makes me laugh.

Cowen was an absolute disaster as both Minister for Finance and Taoiseach. Probably the worst Taoiseach the State ever had. McCreevy was probably a worse Minister for Finance.
