The Official 2012 Club Championship Thread

Because their home clubs donā€™t play in the Cork senior hurling championship. The players that play for UCC and CIT in the county championships all come from premier, intermediate, junior clubs or from senior clubs outside of Cork eg Colin Fennelly.

Yeah i pick way too many teams alright, ive had a good few big wins as well which is why i still try to get 8+ up.

Garryspillane & Kilmallock double paying 6/1 so worth a punt at that price. It would be some final, i canā€™t imagine too much love between them.

Nobody loves kilmallock CH. They donā€™t even like each other.

Do you think Drom have what it takes to retake Dan Breen?

Yes but if thatā€™s the case why donā€™t you see all these stars signed with Dublin clubs, going back and playing in their home championship?

In a word, No.

Hard one to call, but if i was placing my own money on a team it would be Sars.

Loughmore are a team that could surprise a few yet, Drom will play Clonoulty Rossmore if they beat Carrick Swans and that game is a really hard one to call.

and that suits us just fine.

are Roscrea any good?

That I couldnā€™t answer properly and I had never thought about it before. Suppose its because you have to actually transfer to play in another counties championship for another club whereas you just have to go to the college to play for them.

Ya, thatā€™s my point. They are either a club or they are not.
If they want to be treated the same as a club with regards to entering the Munster Championship then the usual rules should apply.

Kilkenny club championship is a bit of a mess now with the AI Final replay.

Galway the same Iā€™m sure.

You are against the colleges entering the club championships so I presume?? As far as I know if a player from Limerick won a senior county with his home club and a Cork senior county with a college he would then have to chose who he plays for in the Munster club championship so once you start a competition with a team you are tied to that team then.

Leinster was held up for that shower of cunts last year, Iā€™m sure itā€™ll be the same this year.

Ya, that happened last year with Austin Stacks.
Iā€™m not against them entering the county championships if thatā€™s what individual counties want but I do have an issue with them playing in the All Ireland series.

Stolen for the new KK site:

The last league round being played 5/6 of Oct with first round of championship being played 12/13 of Oct with the subsequent rounds all played consequetively.

This means even with no replays Kilkenny Senior and Inter sides will not be known in time to qualify for the Leinster club championships.

What stage is it at CLD? Usual suspects? Shamrocks? How are carrickshock doing?

Forgot about Austin Stacks last year actually! Id have no issue with them playing in the All Ireland series, the vast majority of them come from smaller lower graded clubs and I would have no problem with them having a chance to win a Munster senior or All Ireland senior medal either. Id also be off the opinon divisions should be allowed compete if they win as well.

What new KK GAA website?

Not for Niall McNamee. Won a medal with UCD & Rhode in the same year then went on to Leinster and played for Rhode and knocked UCD out.

They changed it after that fiasco didnā€™t they?
