The Official 2012 Club Championship Thread

maybe i am wrong then

There was a superb piece on off the ball a couple of weeks about kickhams featuring val Andrews and Tommy carr. Covered the gaa/soccer divide in dublin

Dr. Crokes should win club all ireland…all they need to do is keep their mouths shut and don´t come across like a bunch of bitches…They seem to have a few big lads on the field who can handle themselves against anyone…segregating the crowd hula baloo last year did them no favours against ´Cross and i heard the manager say before this year´s game against kilmurray Ibrickane that if John kennedy (kilmurray manager) was a real kerryman there would be no dirt from Clare champions…thats nonsense talk…they are going to be in a dogfight against Ballymun in middle of february so they´ll need more than nice football to win All ireland so better get used to doing whatever it takes…

Yip, they confirmed that soccer followers were a lower class of people.

spot on scumpot. The Crokes management have come out with a few right clangers. The players dont open their mouths and just get on with playing. The Crokes club is extremely well ran so I am surprised with some of the stuff their management has come out with.

Well, when I played Senior Club Championship in the 60’s, with Carrickmacross Emmets’ (By virtue of employment, but see their club annual) it was a man’s game. If you got a belt, you bided you’re time and exacted retribution the following week or two in a “Tournament” challenge, where suspensions didn’t stand at C/B Level.

Fagan’s position as “Father of the Forum” appears shot by 20…But:

He’s a better poster.

Congrats to Ballymun. Great to see a northside team doing well and a new name on the cup. Some great work going on in Ballymun Kickhams at under age level. good to see they have a nice set up as well, gone are the days of getting changed at the entrance to the flats (or was that against Setanta) or at the side of the pitch.

thats was setanta… Ballymun comprehensive played school matches there…I actually played them one day and the guy i was marking was called in for his dinner by his ma who was hanging over the balcony shouting at him for 3 floors up…off he trotted not a bother to him…I was glad to see him go…
Ballymun used to play in Poppintree underage but at adult level have been out in their current spot near the airport (think its called collinstown lane) for as long as i rememeber going back 13 years or so…think they were one of the first to start using an all weather pitch…

is it true a GGA club game is only 60 minutes?

Should have remembered it was Setanta as it was a hurling match. I remember another time playing an underage soccer match in Ballymun and the changing room was the boiler room of the block of flats, tell ya it was a lot nicer and warmer than the porch. Ah the good auld days when ya had to get changed in all sorts of places, backs of cars, mini buses, side of the pitch, shipping containers, portakabins (if ya were rich).

listen you deranged fucktard - you are a sick fucker so quit posting your jibberish

Yep its true.

There isnt a GGA football divide in Dublin

There is football which is hugely popular and then there are the bespoke sports

I am very definitely the father of the forum. I am the one that wayward young scamps like Rocko, Bandage, Thrawneen and the Dunph turn to for advice on careers and affairs of the heart.

You are the grandfather of the forum.

Fuck me taz, what the fuck kind of weed are you smoking today. Such an array of smiley faces out of you. All your missing is one of these;

Epic contest between TFK poster Manus Boyles St Peters and TFK poster Spideys Castleknock going on right now

All-Ireland club JFC quarter-final St Peters (Lancashire) 1-10 2-11 Castleknock (Dublin), Old Bedians Sports, 1pm - Into extra time

Result: Castleknock 3-13 St Peters 1-12 AET.

Congrats Spidey. Commiserations Manus.

Thank you for the kind words MBB.

Peters were 2 points up with a couple of minutes of normal time to play when Castleknock goaled and it looked like game over until we scored the leveller with the last kick to take it to extra time.

Two goals(one being a very soft penalty)put us to the sword in extra time.

Castleknock are a very young team who seem a sound shower of lads.Best of luck to them in the semi’s.

I would just like to add that their No.24 who was listed as A.N.Other was a niggly wee cunt.

Right half back on the Kilkenny team in the 2030s is sorted.
