It’s a few years ago since I first heard some someone describe Wilshere as an “overrated little gremlin”, it was a fantastically fitting descripition.
The little gremlin shit.
What a hit Tomas,

Kim Kallstrom has been a wonderful signing-did he save Wenger’s skin on his own today?
If the win the FA cup wenger may stay on for another year
@briantinnion @Scrunchie @Monkey Allen , how you boys holding up?
We did it.
I’m holding up a lot better now than I was at 5.10pm on Saturday. It was a nervy 120 mins but still a better way to win it than a dull 1-0.
This is a big summer for this team now (although that has been said for a few years). Signing a quality striker and defensive midfielder should lead to the club becoming genuine contenders for all major trophies. It’s often been said that Arsenal have a small squad but they actually have a good quality squad if they can keep everyone fit. So it’s really just those two positions that need to be strengthened.

What do you make of Arsenal yet again falling away towards the end of the season?
Are you going to blame it on Aaron Ramsey being injured?

Need to retain the wonderful Bacary Sagna too.

I find it strange that people say Arsenal fell away again. In most of the last 5/6 years, Arsenal have been out of the title race early in the season but have finished strongly to claim a CL place. So I’m not sure where the “yet again falling away” comes from.
Like most Arsenal fans I didn’t believe we would win the title so I’m not going to say Ramsey’s injury cost us. However, obviously the injuries to Ramsey, Walcott and Ozil for a few months did have a big impact. Had they stayed fit we would have been a lot closer to Man City.
Having said that, I also believe Arsenal only have themselves to blame for the large number of injuries. So it can’t be claimed the club were unlucky to lose those players.
There are a number of reasons why Arsenal fell short and injuries is just one of them. That is what is so frustrating for us Arsenal fans - the club is getting a lot of obvious things completely wrong, yet we’re only 7 points behind City and won the Cup.

It’s all very well finishing strongly to a season when you are out of the league race, and the pressure is off to some extent.
Arsenal were blown away by Liverpool in Anfield and then fell apart for a number of games, and fell out of the title race. The last time they were in a title race from the start, they did something similar.
In fact, had Everton maintained some degree of form, they would probably have lost out on the Champions League as well. That is some fall off considering the they were challenging for the title only a couple of months previously.

Arsenal have been poked at for years for not winning trophies. They’ve qualified for CL and won a trophy this year. I think that’s a success.
Liverpool’s win over Arsenal, no matter how good, makes feck all difference.

Per knows the score.
Farmer is merely seething that Wenger has once again proved him wrong.
2013/2014 Season
Wenger 1
Rodgers 0

Of course it does. They capitulated against title opponents.
And they did it again with a 6-0 defeat against Chelsea.
Yes they won the cup that Wigan won last year, and they got into the Champions League mainly relying on Everton messing up.
If true fans are happy with that, then go nuts.
At the beginning of the season the majority of pundits and fans, even Arsenal fans, tipped Arsenal to finish between 7th and 5th. Very few believed Arsenal would get top four. Yet when they finished 4th, only 7 points off the top, they are still getting criticised for under achieving. The truth is they have had a better season than most expected.
It’s a bit ridiculous to say they would have lost out on CL had Everton maintained form. arsenal finished on 79 points, 7 ahead of Everton. 73 points was enough to get top four every other season, so Arsenal fully deserved that final spot and got it fairly comfortably.
Finally it wasn’t a case of Arsenal finishing seasons strongly because pressure was off. In most seasons Arsenal were under a lot of pressure to win games in order to get CL football. Last year they took 29 points in last 11 games (or something similar to that) in order to claim 4th by one point. So they have been winning games under pressure for many seasons.
I’m not saying Arsenal are a world class team and they have numerous faults, but some of the criticisms are completely over the top. also a lot of the accusations are incorrect and people seem to just repeat them without actually analysing.

Liverpool also lost to all the top four, got knocked out of Cup by Arsenal, didn’t win a trophy, fell away at end of season, only finished second because Chelsea and Arsenal messed up (going by your logic) and yet Liverpool fans are absolutely ecstatic with their season.
It’s fucking comical watching the Arsenal fans going OTT in their celebrations of a title their manager has been belittling for years. 2 FA cups in 9 years is an absolutely pathetic return for a team with the wage bill Arsenal has. Wenger has conned these eejits into believing that not winning trophies constitutes success as long as they scrape into 4th place in the league every year.
