A point at Old Trafford this weekend would top this evening nicely, if we can keep momentum going who knows where this can lead.
I’ll wait and see if Matthieu Flamini is for before I decide what I’m hoping for on Sunday. Walcott appears to be out anyway which is a disappointment.
Where are all the ‘Wenger out’ cunts now? Bastards don’t deserve him. A lovely lovely man. I’ll be wearing a cardigan to work tomorrow in his honor.
I’m going to wear an unnecessarily long jacket that won’t zip up properly, in his honour.
Brilliant win tonight, especially when you consider how many players are out injured at the moment. Lots of pundits saying Arsenal don’t have a strong enough squad but we are beating Liverpool and Dortmund with 7 or 8 players out injured.
Tough opening 35 mins her @ OT. Per’s absence is hurting us defensively as VP’s goal proved. Carzola has also been very sloppy in possession which is really irking me.
Hopefully they see out the half & Arsene can instil more belief in the side @ HT.
Disappointing result but a good performance really. Per was a huge loss considering his performances this Season have been excellent, he is our leader in defense. I really doubt that RVP’s goal were have occurred with him present today.
Positives, Gibbs & Wilshere were very good. Negatives, Carzola & Ozil seem to be slipping form wise.
As @Monkey Allen has pointed out Arsenal’s lack of width makes them quite predictable. I remarked to @Bandage that several times United had ten players behind the ball leaving Arsenal facing a red wall and they kept trying to play through the middle. They got some joy down the right when Gnabry came on late.
Very disappointing alright as United were poor and were there for the taking in the second half. Arsenal were far more dangerous in the 10 mins that Gnabry was on the pitch. He should have been the first sub on as it was obvious they needed some width and pace. Bringing on Bendtner out wide before Gnabry made no sense whatsoever. For all Arsenal’s dominance of possession in the second half, they didn’t create enough clear chances. As @briantinnion said, the attacks were too predictable because of always looking to go through the middle.
Walcott or Podolski would have made a difference today but Arsenal have only themselves to blame for having such few options up front. It’s important that a decent striker is signed in early January, although Arsenal will probably leave it till Jan 31st in the hope that it saves money.
Other results this weekend meant it hasn’t been too bad of a defeat but how Arsenal respond in the next few weeks will give us a better idea of whether they are genuine title challengers. I think we have Southampton, Cardiff, Hull and Everton before facing Chelsea and Man city. Need to get at least 10 points from those next 4 games.
