âIt is at a very public stage now, they just canât avoid hearing the criticismâ - the Cork football challenge
Blackrock 1/5 - Bandon 7/2
Midleton 1/10 - Carrigtwohill 11/2
Newcestown 1/2 - Ballyhea 15/8
Newtownshandrum 4/7 - NaP 13/8
Glen 4/7 - Sars 13/8
Erins Own 1/12 - Killeagh 6/1
Some value backing Ballyhea there I think.
I see Sars have officially put out the smallest half forward line in the history of hurling. Kearney, Eoin Oâsullivan and Tadhg og Murphy. Two midgets and s lad thatâs barely 5â11.
Glen two points and a man down at ht.
See Sars after beating Glen. No other surprises, bar maybe a very small one with Na Piarsaigh beating Newtown.
Christ above, never knew Imokilly stretched from Castlelyons the whole way to to Cobh. Thatâs a savage area to pick from. All intermediate & junior clubs I presume.
Wouldnât make much sense of senior clubs contributed players to a senior divisional side. Itâs a huge catchment area alright. I wouldnât say the size of it is much of an advantage when trying to pull together a team like this though.
Goes out to Youghal and back to Glanmire and Glounthane as well, although those areas have senior clubs. Killeagh, Sars, Carrigtwohill, Midleton, Youghal, Erins Own and Bride Rovers are all Imokilly clubs up senior.
Does Imokilly have picks of their Junior players?
No
Nor would they ever need them,
Imokilly had some great teams when I was growing up in the 80s, particularly in football when theyâd have the Midleton and Glanmire lads as well.
Big surprise with Valley Rovers comfortably beating Ballincollig
Tomas OâLeary back training with Erins Own apparently.
Interesting. He was in good nick as always when he finished up but had lost every bit of pace he ever had.
Heâll kill it at club hurling in time.
On a sidenote. I met the Cork Senior Football team at the gym the other day. Most upbeat and positive i have seen in a while. They had done a big morning tactical and game session and were getting their last weights session in.
They were quite confident of rattling tipps cage on sunday.
How the mighty have fallen
