Depends on pace, mate - 25 at a decent pace.
@Bandage @Big_Dan_Campbell - this was the way myself and @carryharry were on about if coming off the Dublin Rdā¦ slip off at Mahon and head for Castle road - Thereās an old folks home called St. Lukes with a big car park that you could easily and cheekily park in and no one would notice - marked no.1 - just beyond it is a little car park along the water no.2- about 40 cars could park there ā¦ and up around the bend marked no.3 is the marina - this will be fine for Saturdayās game but with the market on Sunday it will be busy until around 1.30pm - if arriving around 2.30pm the market should be well over.

Back to the reality of Cork GAA.
It has become apparent that the CB will now pick management teams for Minor and u21 and the manager will have no say in selectors or coaches.
They are also saying privately that the develooment squads have failed. This seems to be in reaction to the Minor Footballers, who had the same Head Coach from u14, losing to Kerry this year. That was the first team to come straight thru.
However the real story here is the CB went to Brian Herlihy and said we want Dual players (neither hurlers nor footballers wanted this) but the footballers told them to do one.
They now have CB men involved in u14 and u16 develooment squads. Both u16 and u17 have lost managers/coaches due to disputes.
Donal Og, Sean Og et al have alot to answer for. They dropped the ball when they had the CB by the throat.

Itās about 7 mins from train station to the sextant pub (great spot for before the game cc @Bandage) if you wouldnāt make it down from there in 18 mins youād want to be a right approach!
This football you are taking about Kev? Heard that there is an exceptional group at u17 hurling level at moment

Ya a number of the very good Minors are actually u17.
That was football, but its across the board.
Talk of Development Squads being scrapped or a massive clear out. Talking up last year looks like costing Kevin Donovan his job. Now i think a re-vamp of the squads is needed. They are not really developing players. All they were doing was creating teams. When you see several develooment squads doing cone drills and āagilityā tests (which are really COD tests) you know its a waste of time. I know Nemo actually donāt like their olayers being on squads, they come back worse.
Club strike, starting in Cork, is my prediction in next 2 years. CPA has not gone away.
The other massive issue hurtling down the road at everyone is the fact Soccer is going to summertime next year. On the ground that is already causing concerns. Not being spoke about in anyway by organizers though. That will be a mess.
Soccer to summer time?? As in local clubs?
Already happened in Dublin I think for underage
Impressive enough fora recent blow in, Iād be shocked if St Lukes allowed parking but you could pull up on the road back that far anyway or in the Ferney road area around the corner, Iād say those car parks by the castle will cause problems, theyāre not that big and are usually busy anyway,
My post from the other day still the best on this Iād say but kudos to you, youāre spending a lot of time in Mahon?
Yeah - In St. Lukes ā you could easily park in there on A Sunday - thatās visiting day with cars coming and going all day.
Yeah itās happening. All the players have been notified. Well actually the shite players havenāt been informed. Hopefully they get the message and fuck off.
Underage ya. All leagues.
Have been talking to various coaches from both sides of the fence. Its already a mess in March-May and Aug-Oct. They just think its going to get farcical, because coaches wonāt give up training.
The FAI did it without any real consultation.
A fella i know who coaches at a decent level and works for FAI said it is going to stone cold kill rural soccer.

Why tho, whatās the reasoning? Itās a fucking winter sport ---- too much pampering going onā¦ If itās slightly raining now kids donāt play -
If soccer goes to summer itāll destroy the GAA. Or make it wake up once and for all.

Iād imagine it will seriously fuck up the lower division clubs in the country leagues.
The vast majority of those are just GAA lads looking for something to do over the winter and itās hard enough to even get them to play then.
You will see a big fall off in lads from the 16-18 playing multiple sports too. Lads will most likely pick one or the other, to the detriment of both GAA and soccer. Seems like a very pig headed move.
Kids are going to be firced to choose at 8/10/12.
Its insane.
Standards all around will drop, in all 3 codes
What is the thinking behind it from soccer perspective? Play in better weather on better pitches?
Hard to organise comps with holidays for players and mentors during the summer.
They have not thought it out at all. They could have asked the GAA. Fuck all happens around now. There is a month of downtime.
I spoke with someone about the 10 year tickets earlier and it was confirmed to me that the intention is to put floodlights on the other stand as well sufficient to play evening games. Should be done by now but they held it off rather than delay the opening
