@Little_Lord_Fauntleroy can you bump The Seething Thread please?

:joy::joy:

I’m seething.

Is there any precedent for disqualifying/banning players or teams for such egregious unsportsmanlike behavior the criminals showed today?

The seethe is hilarious. One of the first things you’re taught as a cricketer is to stay in your crease.
Bairstow tried it in the same test. Of course, Bairstow isn’t a very good cricketer, so it didn’t become an issue.

The Poms are disgracing themselves on and off the field. It’s just not cricket.

When they say “technically and by the letter of the law it’s out …” then it’s out.

Two bald men fighting over a comb. Crowd reaction entirely predictable, and understandable given that like baseball, if there was no booze, there’s be no game. I’d imagine the sandpaper was mentioned in the long room.
All the English commentators, and Eoin Morgan thought it was out, and Barstow’s fault. Stuff said in the heat of the moment. Aussies playing bodyline against the tail enders passes unnoticed. England nearly as bad. Jimmy Anderson took a fair few belts.

The English are very sore losers. They weren’t too worried about the spirit of cricket when they were crowing about Starcs catch being disallowed the other night.

You wouldn’t see Sir Baz of Bazball engaging in that sort of behaviour in his playing days

Not only are the English boorish oafs but they are also hypocrites

It’s the Convict blood. They just can’t suppress it. That Sandpaper crew should all have got life bans after they were caught in Cape Town in 2018.

Well played :grin:

Warney was the most perceptive man in cricket. The greatest cricketing mind of the generation, and an Aussie to his bones. Himself and Richie Benaud and Michael Holding and Michael Atherton are the most valuable opinions in the game.
