First time India have every lost a test match at home where they had a first innings lead in excess of 100 runs.

India had only lost 3 of their last 46 home test matches since Alastair Cook’s all conquering England team were the last visiting team to win a test series in India in 2012.

Bazball at it’s finest

England losing wickets now. We’ve slipped from 114/1 to 136/4. India posted 396 with a double century of 209 from Jaiswal.

Jaiswal is the best story in sport.

Bit of work to do still to avoid the follow on.

Jasprit Bumrah send them home for the night with their tea in a mug.

Same old story for England batting.

India are bowled out for 255.

We’ll have to chase down 399 to win this. That would be the 5th highest run chase in the history of test cricket. A tall order.

67/1 at stumps.

England bowled out for 292. India win by 106 runs to level the 5 match series at 1-1.

Stumps on Day 2 of the 3rd test in Rajkot.

India 445 England 207/2

England were given 5 extra runs because India were repeatedly running on the crease.

Duckett scored the third fastest century by an overseas player in India. After Gilchrist and Sir Clive Lloyd.

Duckett scoring freely. India need to hope it turns more in the 4th innings

It’s a fairly dead batsman fill your boots and boost your average type of sub-continent pitch.

They were saying during commentary this morning that when England last played a test match in Rajkot in 2016, England posted 537 in their first innings with India posting 488. Ended up in a fairly dull draw.

220/2 to 319 all out. Bazball is a load of nonsense.

Root started the procession today. Should know better. Bairstow long past his sell by date but Harry Brook is at home.

Root has scored 29, 2, 5, 16, 19 in this series.

The fundamental flaw with Bazball is a test match lasts 5 days and you have plenty of time to accumulate your runs. As Graeme Swann alluded to, on commentary, India batted for 131 overs. England batted for 71. The England bowlers are not properly rested and India now have the best of the batting conditions early on Day 3. This wicket will most likely start to properly turn tomorrow.

India down to 10 men with a load of inexperienced players out there. England will roar back

Root scores faster with Bazball but for a lot fewer runs
