Smashing couple of days out west. Arrived in Westport at Thursday lunchtime and then went for a stroll through Westport house grounds and quay and back up through the town. Few porter in Matt Molloys and Morans. Stayed in the Castlecourt which was grand - only €5 supplement on the set menu for the Tbone so that was had.
Did Croagh Patrick the next day. Have to say was fooked for the first hour but grand after that. Some view at the top. Then back in the car after and straight to Galway. Jacuzzi and pool once we arrived to ease out the stiff legs. Fish and chips that evening in McDonaghs and bit of a pub crawl before ending up in An Pucan on Forster St. They have done some job on it compared to tje kip it was a few years ago. Serious tail in it too.
Next day drove out the coast road through Spiddal and Gaeltacht area to Clifden. Some smashing views. Bit of lunch/porter in Kings, few bets in Boyles and cracking game of pitch and putt under blazing sun in Hazelbrook out the Westport road. Back in the jammer then and tea and scones in Ballinahinch Castle en route back to Galway City. Few cocktails in the G, dinner in the Asian Tea House and off to bed. Stopped in Kilbeggan yesterday for bit of the Spurs game and then motored home just back in time for the GAA.
Smashing few days Spidey. I was in Westport on Saturday and it was crawling with tourists. Westport House is a great day out if you have kids.
I know the fella running the Pucan, has renewed his lease for another 10 years in July, He sunk a huge amount of money into it a few months ago but its staring to pay itself back already.

Fine review there @Spidey
Think I will follow suit next week.
That was good.
We paid 170 for two which was the wedding rate.
For 1 or 2 nights? I stayed in that hotel for my stag and thought it was good - couldn’t have done anymore for us. Think we paid €150 per room for 2 nights B&B and a dinner.
