That whole sorry episode left me with the idea that Kev is not at all from Cork.
Was there a kid playing a banjo?
That was going to be the first place on my list alright. Pretty reasonable as well.
I remember Gilbert’s in Cobh also being good, as was the Thai in Midleton and the best chipper is the Roma Grill in Youghal or Hillbillies in the city.

As the lads have said, it’s grand. If you there at weekends likely be wedding there the fri and Sat that’s main trade. Could use it as so base and go to Ardmore house to eat, ballymaloe also close by lovely restaraunt. Would need to drive both places though. Fota wildlife park also not far.
Wouldn’t be in the top 20 places I’d have gone to in Cork myself for a short break. Castlemartyr, Fota and Ardmore house all in the vicinity and far better options that you would be happy to spend your evenings there
Splash out and go to Ardmore House if you can get good deal there

Ballymaloe is very overrated, and pretentious.
Have they curry sauce?
No, but plenty of soup

@mickee321 Cobh amongst the top 10 tourist towns in Ireland
Standard enough list other than that, notable absence of Dingle though & nowhere in the North West. No Wexford towns either

I was in Cobh recently and passed a lovely couple of hours strolling along the waterfront.
I’ve upgraded it from being a shithole to a mere kip.

have you a limp or some sort of impediment? a couple of hours to walk the waterfront in cobh? it’s about a half a mile at the very most I’d say.
When was the last time you were in Lismore you cunt.
This year.
And what didn’t meet your exacting standards
@Fagan ODowd, you’re very defensive about any criticism of Waterford. You’re beginning to sound like a cork man.
For what it’s worth I think Lismore is a grand spot

I could take a fella having a swipe at Portlaw or Stradbally or Tramore, but having a cut at Lismore is just ignorance for the sake of it.
and run by a convicted paedophile
Tramore has to be one of the biggest dumps in Ireland.
Literally. There’s a massive rubbish tip right on the beach.
