The Official Irish Times Best Places to Holiday in Ireland Thread

Other way around

Would it be true traditional without the over the top Irishness?
Going to be bringing the woman around Ireland when we get home and want to pick out a few stops.

Will you be showing her the time of her life in New Ross or was that just a treat for your former woman?

No it closed down last August, a crowd of Pakies ran it into the ground.

I’d highly recommend Valentia Island for that trip

I brought a different Dublin jersey but I did have it when I got home and didn’t even think I’d lost it, which was nice.

I did nearly lose my rucksack getting off the bus back in Dublin, though. I had two bags, one hand luggage and the other in the luggage compartment below. As I live on the westerly fringes of the city, I asked the driver to let me off near to where I live instead of going into town. As the driver was a cranky oul’ cunt, he didn’t want to, but after a bit of persuasion finally agreed, effing and blinding under his breath. “You know I’m under no obligation to let you off?” When he went down to open the luggage compartment for me, I had trouble finding my bag and the cunt got even more angry, which flustered me a bit. After eventually finding the bag and with him about to pull off, I realised that I had, in a Mr. Bean-like manner, rested my rucksack inside the luggage compartment while looking for the other bag and he was about to drive off with it, so I had to frantically knock on the door of the bus again to get him to stop, whereupon he proceeded to aim even more foul-mouthed invective my way. I was glad for the encounter to be over, in truth.

Fethard On-Sea in November. Accept no substitutes.

Riiiiiiggggghhhtttt

Ya, I’d say 1/2 the time will be in West Cork and Kerry.
I’d move to South or West Kerry in the morning if employment was decent.

I don’t recommend it, Kev. You’d explode with the slagging you’d take from the animals over football.

I have a great relationship with Kerry people, I love their football and passion for it as well. They are hard to talk to about it though, especially when they are not no. 1.
And I’ve been taking a slagging for 20 years, I went to school with a load of them. I’ve had to wear a Kerry jersey to training every night since the Munster final due to a loss of a bet.
You get used to it really.

If you’d a son would he play for Kerry?

if i lived there? Of course.

The Inis Oirr crowd are known as Sandys I think, hence the name change. I’m an Inis Mainn man myself.

Very presumptuous of you.

How many dolphins have ye? Exactly. Fuck off.

Portumna has more Dolphins than Inis Oirr.

Were we talking about Portumna?
