I’ve visited it many times and I’m saddened to see it burn. The thought occurred to me the last time I visited that if a six storey office block in Dublin costs 100m the likes of Notre Dame must have cost the modern equivalent of billions. The wealth must have staggering.

France 24 live coverage a few minutes ago was quoting fire services as saying that they may not be able to save the cathedral “at all”.
They will rebuild it, brick by brick.
