Great save
A bit of sloppiness giving United their first real chance of the game but Howard saves well from Rooney
This will be our first double over Manchester United since our title winning 69/70 season…Roberto
Coleman MOTM
Gary Neville gives Seamus Coleman the Man of the Match
Is it correct that this is the first time since the 60’s that Everton have done the double over Utd?
Hurrah

Real football, real people.
Surely Moyes has to go now.
Possibly Man City are a more realistic target for Everton to overhaul for 4th.
Of all the mistakes David Moyes made over the last year, his biggest was leaving Everton

I don’t blame him for going off to manage United, it’s one of the top jobs in World football and for once in his career he actually showed a bit of ambition, but he probably should have known he’d never have it so good again.
Big blow today with Kevin Mirallas being ruled out for the rest of the season with a groin injury. Facing a race against time now to be fit in time for the World Cup. He was just hitting his best form of the season too, hopefully Sundays match won’t prove to have been his last for Everton.
Mourinho is now threatening to play the Chelsea B/U-21 team on Sunday, unless he is over-ruled by Roman Abramovich. This is in apparent protest at the Premier Leagues refusal to reschedule the Chelsea - Liverpool game. It wouldn’t surprise me if Mourinho tried to engineer a row with Abramovich before the end of the season, to put himself in the frame for the United job.
Sylvain Distin now expected to miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury. Antolin Alcaraz is set to start V Southampton, alongside John Stones, which will be the Paraguayans first start since his disastrous Merseyside derby display, although I must admit I was very impressed with his performance when introduced on Sunday. Phil Jagielka seems set to remain on the sidelines with his injury, which seems to be taking a lot longer to heal than originally thought, though Martinez maintains the plan was always for him to return to the fold for the Manchester City game.
The groin injury Kevin Mirallas suffered against United is expected to keep him out for 5/6 weeks, which should see him return to fitness in plenty of time for the World Cup.
Meanwhile, here’s a look back at Sundays game and the ill-fated Palace match by former ‘When Skies are Grey’ editor, Mark O’Brien - “After all, they might be murderers, but they’re our murderers.” - Merseypride

Osman will prob come in along with alcaraz for the saints game.
I see the young barca lad is signing for another year with barca picking up the wages
Karma for Distin for his lack of respect to his former club.

A lot of good points there Jimmy. What he did a great job of doing was overplaying the poor mouth. Everton consistently had top 6 to top 8 wages and they normally finished top 6 or top 8. He didn’t ever have a huge amount of money for transfers but when he did, they rarely worked out. He did get a lot of very good players in though for small money.
