Funny you say that, Michael. Right now it feels like I’ve had better.

Was having a torrid afternoon yesterday. Child was irritated by the muggy weather and wasn’t in great form. She did a nice big dirty nappy whilst I was on duty, there was some overspill and some of the offending material got on my hands.

I then sat down and pulled out my phone. The Photos app now throws up ‘On this day’ photos which I occasionally scroll through. Yesterday happened to be the exact day I was in the middle of a blow out in Las Vegas for a landmark birthday with a good few pals. On 22 July in particular we were at the Wet Republic pool party surrounded by attractive young people (male & female) in swimming costumes. I was also about 10lbs lighter than I am now, superb tan and shortly flying back to my own apartment in the greatest city in the world. I looked at the yellow/brown material in my fingernails that I had missed in my initial scrub and I will be honest, it didn’t feel like yesterday was amongst the best days of my life at that point.

Then again, that life is gone and I can’t change that, it’s with O’Leary in the grave. She gave me a little smile later on and it melted my heart a little bit.

I think it’s been discussed before but I think getting a Great Reply by announcing the birth of a child cheapens the award. It should be for a stunning put-down or funny anecdote, not for having a kid. @Rocko can you take this Great Reply award away from Bandage, please and anyone else who has got a similarly wrongly award Great Reply.

Ah, the memories…

It’s great that the boy will be socialised early in life mate and out in the world in the creche, or day care as everyone else calls it. Just ensure you have contingencies in place for when he picks up every ailment under the sun in the first few months and one if you have to stay home to care for him. I shouldn’t expect many refunds on days missed at child care either.
But he’ll be better for it and will develop his immunity to every other horrible little sickly fucker.
Fitzy jnr caught pneumonia when he was one. Fitzy Snr spent 4 nights sleeping on the floor beside him in the hospital, it was touch and go for a while, but he came right and has barely been sick since.
Though the DIY sounds like it would be a bigger challenge.

You’ll be waiting a while so…

horrible sentiments from @Horsebox

That was wind.

I’m going straight home and making a baby and getting a great reply award within the next 12 months…

@Horsebox, there’s no such thing as a soft ‘great reply’

he may be a cunt for raising it but he’s entirely correct. Farmers great reply on this matter is the only one which should stand. any dick can get any cunt knocked up, and not intentionally either.

Fran is still the king of the Great Reply.

Big time. Most people on here have kids, should everyone have a Great Reply award? Should they fuck.

if @glasagusban ever signs in here the whole fatherhood game will be brought into disrepute

surely if glas has a kid he’ll be signing into the mothers issues thread?
