Thankyou, I genuinely appreciate that.
I spent more getting her right than I did buying, but she runs like clockwork now.
Just need to get it dinitrol waxoyl and cavity sprayed.
As an aside, my lass school were taken to Beaulieu to the classic car museum on a school trip. They were asked had they any questions, so she asked did they have an Adonis. When your man said he’d not heard of such a car, she said well my dad has one.

You don’t really own a car like that, you just mind it for future generations

My first classic was an absolutely beautiful xjs, midnight blue with white leather, which smelt of leather and cigars. I sold it after a year for that exact reason. I felt like I was minding an heirloom, and wasn’t quite up to it. Those jags were notorious as they couldn’t afford to build them well, so the bodywork was made of riveted sheets, and just rot away.

Sadly I remember sitting in a brand new xjs

They didn’t hold their value well. The V12 engine was designed by a lad from Bollington, who has gone on record as saying that they just couldn’t stop it leaking oil whatever they tried.

Do you do weddings/debs?

It’s not a proper Merc unless you have the underclass sights hood ornament

320se, a straight six. Supposedly a very reliable engine. It’s been perfect so far, the engine. I bought it off an Arthur daly type unfortunately, and despite assurance that it was rock solid, it was, in fact, a leaking rot box, which the restorer said you either repair properly or throw out, so I gritted my teeth and spent six grand on the bodywork plus extras, but it’s lovely now. The mot tester said it was in fantastic condition. It won’t pay me back, or close, but it should hold its value, and it’s a lovely car to drive. It suits me as you don’t ever feel an itch to rush anywhere when you’re bouncing along in it.

It actually saves co2 not buying a new car.

If she misbehaves I’ll Boycott her.

Do you wear a sheepskin jacket and a trilby hat when tootling around in it?

String back or regular driving gloves?
