This thread felt like the appropriate place to mention it since it was bumped today and I arrived home to that letter.
There was never a suggestion that they weren’t within their rights but it was needless and created a lot of resentment at the time, I’m actually getting annoyed now just thinking about it. Fuck them anyway
We also have a things that make me irrationally angry thread now…
Theres many things you could do…
1- decide a library for learning is a good thing and generally in line with your own principals as a teacher.
2- Go to the meeting and start asking hard questions about the college, its behaviour over lockdown and any historical wrongs (perceived or otherwise) that the older neighbours might have. You dont need to win this, you just need to make their night really difficult and unpleasant. Then leave it.
3- Organise a local protest campaign, organise marches etc, get high on the power and run for local election. Its a piece of piss. Any oddball can get elected. Trust me.
4- tweet that there are moves to build rooms to unvetted males and tag a few lads with ireland flags in their bios… .
The choice is yours…

It seems like his point is that it wasn’t the right thing to do, your point seems irrelevant to that.
He could tweet that they plan to fill the library with books for children on how to turn themselves into transexuals and have drag queens doing erotic literature readings for kids. @Ambrose_McNulty and the lads would be down with the pitchforks.

So @backinatracksuit is whinging because a college locked up during lock down? There have been multiple break ins on that campus so hardly outrageous the decision was made to secure the site when it was closed for the foreseeable at the time.

It was open for staff, there was more security than usual employed to police the intruders

So if a child injured themselves on college property who would be liable for a claim? It’s a college campus not a public green ffs.
