Ebeeneezer Goode was the king of scrumping back in the day . Any other posters thrive at this activity?
The proddies tended to own most of the orchards in Armagh and they were mainly condensed in the area north of Armagh City so unfortunately I didn’t get to partake in scrumping as much as I would have liked back in the day.
I scrumped regularly throughout my childhood.
Massive scrumper back in the day.
Scrumping?? As in skinning an orchard?
Signing in- The Ennis road is/was full of apple trees and a troop of us moyrosstitutes used to skin them after a dip in the outdoor public pools on the Ennis road during the summer months. Cratloe was another destination of choice - it was only twenty minute up the rail track to some of the farms around there and we regularly skinned them- An added bonus would be some glue sniffers on the track on the way home and bate the small apples off them… Delmege’s (Palatines) was a great place for conkers but not apples.
Bucking an orchard. I was good, really good.
More lies. I’d say you never stole an apple in your life.
You have to keep that one for when I am probably lying. If you keep using it all of the time it just becomes really old.
