The official TFK solar panel thread

The Leaf Lord has assembled a feisty little team of supporting lapdogs around him.this fella gives a nasty little nip at the ankles.

I find headbangers very interesting

Your little habit of making up far fetched stories to ingratiate yourself with the rest of the gobdaws here is fascinating

Scale is the benefit of using fields mate

Most arent done on ā€œprimeā€ agriculture land as its cheaper to use shit agriculture land

Shouldn’t landowners be able to do whatever they like on their own land (within reason)? Isn’t that FreEDoM?

Carparks are an awful use of space, surely covering them like this will benefit everyone more

Is that for real, like actually showing up on a monitor? :joy:

If by a monitor you mean the screen if my phone from the app…then yes

Shur that’s just crazy stuff.

Great to see you selling it back to them, but the trees metric…… :joy:

I would say so

But alsoz why would you buy prume land for a solar farm when non prime land is cheaper

Sounds like a troupe

There would be a benefit alright but not as much as a solar farm as the scale wouldnt be the same

Carparkscare a nessessary evil, ideally access to urban centres should be through public transport, park and ride etc. Using solar above the park and ride parking. The car park will be there anyway, why not just use the space. It’ll contribute electricity regardless

While i agree with you on this and also on your point about prime land , it should be pointed out that solar farms aren’t built on prime lands and putting them on fields makes more sense than car parks

I’m all for the nuclear. When are the greens going to push for it?

I think there is a backlash against new nuclear due to the cost and the length of time it takes to build

The interconnecter with wales that opened recently and the one with France means some of our mix will be nuclear though

How do you sleep straight in the bed at night?

Sleeping in positions other than lying straight in bed can have several benefits, depending on individual health conditions and preferences. Here are five advantages:

Reduced Snoring and Sleep Apnea – Sleeping on your side can help keep airways open, reducing snoring and symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea.

Better Digestion – Sleeping on the left side, in particular, can aid digestion by allowing gravity to help move food through the digestive tract.

Improved Blood Circulation – Sleeping with legs slightly elevated or in a fetal position can improve circulation, reducing swelling in the legs and preventing varicose veins.

Less Back and Neck Pain – Some people find relief from back or neck pain by sleeping in a curled or side position, as it reduces pressure on the spine.

Enhanced Brain Health – Studies suggest that side sleeping helps the brain clear waste more efficiently, which may lower the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.

As of the latest available data, Ireland has approximately 4.9 million hectares (12.1 million acres) of agricultural land. This includes areas used for crops, pasture, and other farming activities. In contrast, the land allocated to solar farms is significantly smaller. For instance, the Gallanstown Solar Farm in County Meath covers about 500 acres, making it one of the largest in the country. Other proposed projects, such as the Knockdinnin Solar Farm in County Louth, plan to utilize approximately 447 acres. Overall, the total acreage dedicated to solar farms is minimal compared to agricultural land, accounting for less than 0.1% of Ireland’s total agricultural area.
