The official TFK solar panel thread

Coming in very handy today as the electricity is off for most of the day as they’re replacing a few poles up the road.

I did a review of 2025 there. I paid 190 euro for elec.

Id no bill in Jan as some gov credits were offsetting. Paid 90 in March and 100 at end Dec.

Can’t argue with that

Albeit id say 2025 was a good year with weather and them gov credits

This year will be my first full year so will be interesting to see. My bill for mid October to mid December was about 225 euro cheaper than the year before.

How long will your payback be on the system

5 years or so for me. I’d estimate I’ll be handing over 700 a year or so when I was paukng 2700.

Looking at just under 5 years for me as it stands

Estimated at 5-6 years. 3 times in 2025 the battery kicked in seamlessly during power outages, I didn’t even know only that the app notified me. Router didn’t even flinch.

How much extra is the changover switch for power outages? I didn’t bother with it. Will invest in more battery in time alright. Have 8kwh wouldn’t mind another 10.

1200 fitted I think. It’s only dear the day you put it in!

About €1500 I was quoted

The key to the change over is to manually charge the battery if you know a storm is coming. Nothing worse than the change over switch kicking in and the battery half empty.

The Mrs only told me yesterday morning at 8 that the power was being cut at 9.Great says i,the battery was at 10%.But the panels kept the house goin no bother and by lunchtime the battery was at 70%.Loads of power till the electricity came back at 6.Next move now is to change supplier. Pinergy look to have the best deal for my usage.

Probably another 1200. But I was spending that before the panels as well

Yeah, the less manual shit the better in my case with being away with work a bit.

There was a nice bit of sun yesterday so the panels kept you going :sunglasses:

We’ve a heat pump as the main source so the battery would last long there so in power outages we’d generally kill the heat pump and light the stove. The 16kw battery would het you through he day with all the other bits even if sun didn’t appear.
