Not just nimbyism sometimes though. My auld lad was all on board with the proposed wind farm up on the hills beyond our old land (he was in for a windfall (ahem) himself as they’d have needed some access back of our land). In his word “some cunt from Wicklow” was the one who stopped it all happening over “the fucking hen harrier”. All locals were on board (they saw the dollar signs).

Have.you pisted somewhere the setup and cost? About time i looked into it properly.

I did somewhere…16 panels south south west facing…dormer roof so no shading whatsoever…paid 8.5k approx after the grant

How are you only consuming 8kwh? Is your heating on gas or something?

I was reading something lately that made out with the rebate from the ESB for energy sent to the grid that a battery would never pay for itself

I have oil CH but it wouldn’t have been on all day anyway bar maybe an hour in morn…that’s one of biggest issues with air to water imo…paying for some level of heat all day

Agree, as long as the rebate stays. I suspect it will reduce in time. That said, a battery can always be retrofitted into the system after.

Why do you suspect that?
