Trying to finish a charity Christmas quiz here. Some tough questions.
A fill in the blanks round:
Fore / Won / ? / Too
p y ? q g
Fill / Full / ? / Fall
R B Q O ? A P
All suggestions welcome
Is it sport or general?
This is Krypton Factor-esque.
Third one Fell - only other word using vowel with F_ll?
Last one Q
I think the second one is j.
p, y, q and g all go “below the line” when written as lower case letters.
j is the only other lower case letter to do so.
I assumed there was a sequence element. I may have been mistaken
I have two theories for the fourth one.
Something to do with the shapes of letters, or a sequence involving putting a & between each letter to make a well known term, ie. R&B, B&Q, but it breaks down at Q&O.
First one is Ate rather than Tree, I think.
All numbers of which there are other words with the exact same pronunciation but different spelling.
I had initially thought there might be a golf connection, but even if there was, ate works nearly as well given that there are plenty of fat golfers.
Thanks lads. Not easy is it, the last round or two always separates the men from the boys.
One other round is:
- What are the missing numbers?
Irl 3 / Scot ? / France 4 / Wales ?
- What are the last 4 letters in this Carol title?
COHGMT XG ICWG IGCSE QO ???
- What the missing “similar” surnames and what have all 3 got in common?
David ? / James ? / Barry ?
- Complete this sequence
W10 L11 G12 ???
General but could include sport
…
I was thinking Gray/Brown/White … all musicians
