Is that blonde lass in the photo above her partner? Like Marty, I havenāt done a token little bit of research. It was she/her (which is correct here?) that corrected his pronunciation of Joel.
I never warmed to Katy though obviously I supported her amateur career, maybe the silly God stuff was a turn off.
Kellie is a as lot of the earth, a genuine soul, I had the throat lumps and the little tears this morning, sheās a super ambassador for that area and theyāre rightly proud.
Iād say Marty knew well the motherās routine, just doing that journalistic thing of making her say it
Is the Blonde her partner?
Youāll burn in hell with an attitude like that. Repent for the road to redemption is at hand.
I always think that Jesus was a sound lad, Iām confident that heās be embarrassed by the carry on of them bible bashing brigade, does more harm than good to his ācauseā
How has a woman winning a gold medal become about Marty?
Not to have a go but Katie has no real personality or charisma whatsoever.
Kellie has far more natural efforvescence about. She had a great natural almost innocent charisma about her and will be a great spokeswoman and pundit in time.
Delighted for Kellie. Seems a lovely sort.
Id have a lot of time for Katie Taylor, sheās obviously reclusive and introverted and absolutely hates the media, camera side of it. You donāt hear from her between fights, sheās a world class boxer and played internationally at soccer.
Pure and utter dedication to her profession.
A remarkable person.
She is and will be remembered as a great. As you say, Iād say she hates the limelight and is obviously not suited to the media side of things.
I think Kellie has a very easy and natural charm which will see her far more comfortable in that regard.
Iāve never seen Kellie not beaming. I canāt remember which late talk show she was on but she was utterly charming.
Two very different but absolutely iconic Irish sportspeople
She was on the Tommy Tiernan show and came across well.
Portland Row and its surroundings have been in the news in recent years for all sorts of negative reasons. Itās brilliant to see it on the front pages for the right reasons. There are lots of good people living in the inner city and Kellie is a great ambassador for the area.
Like every area with a bad name, thereās a lot more good than bad, Kellie is representative of those areas more than she knows, a bit wild in her youth but in most cases they settle down and get on with it as adults and the cycle continues.
Obviously not a huge deal but kind of ruined the drama in my house anyway with some getting it and others not. I noticed the same happening at the big screen in Portland row too kind of a staggered celebration. Yer man was literally half a second from saying āin the red cornerā let him at it ffs.
My neighbour watching on RTE delivered the result to me with a fine roar before Hugh Cahill announced it on Sky Go.
I donāt really blame Cahill for flagging the obvious cue, the blame lies with the method of announcement. It that places the emphasis on the call for red/blue, but allows for the result to be discerned before that by first announcing whether the decision is unanimous or split.
Marty has form with GUBU boxing related interviews remember the interview with Francie Barrettās mother?
Apart from spectators, the only thing this Olympics had been missing was Sonia OāSullivan saying āshitā on live television. No longer.
