Why no semi-finals for the 10,000? I have a specific recollection of getting up in the middle of the night to watch Sonia O’Sullivan running in a 10,000 metres semi-final at Sydney 2000.
Kissa obviously not a sociable sort.
Huge disappointment for our Lionesses.
10000 is always a straight final. Sonia ran 5000 and 10000 in Sydney. The semi final you got out of bed must have been the 5000.

My memory is correct. I watched the 5,000 final where Sonia lost to Szabo in a pub in Tallaght at around half past 10 on a Monday morning.

Those green and red Ethiopian colours are iconic in this event. Mayo is struggling.

Enjoyed that 10K race. It’s impossible to know who’s clean in athletics but nonetheless an entertaining half hour.
