I used to be a big fan of the Open Championship but I’m not nearly as keen on this “British Open” thing that has replaced it.

I see the first day’s play started very late - at 8pm.
Still - the players didn’t complain at all and had all finished by 10pm.
I didn’t see any of last year’s tournament but I believe it was the same then.
The pace of play has clearly increased massively - I guess all sport is about pace these days.
Nice to hear a bit of the great man on commentary.
BBC’s new presenter Eilidh Barbour is also quite easy on the eye.
