Lowry needs to play steady golf tomorrow, doesn’t he lads? He doesn’t need to risk or force anything. Fairways and greens. Tick the holes off. If he finds trouble such as getting up close to the lip of a fairway bunker then take the medicine, chip out sideways and make sure the maximum damage is a bogey. Don’t chance anything McIlroyesque where a 5 turns into a 7 or 8. Will he do it lads? Will he do it?

He needs to play the way he has been playing and not try and protect a lead. This isn’t Wexford hurling with two sweepers or three if you go four points up. Nothing fucks up your golf game like trying to play safe.

No way. He should be keeping the driver in the bag where possible. I’d be using my hybrid wood off the tee.
Id say half the crowd is from the free state, going by accents and car regs at the park and ride. On the 17th tee people were going nuts, theres a lot of beer swilling tricolour adorned roasters around.

Its a question of temperament now and just staying focused on the important things. He has shown a tendency before to get distracted. Hopefully he’s beyond that now though.

He only hit 7 out of 14 fairways today which makes the round even more remarkable. Those tee stats repeated tomorrow however could easily see him 10 shots worse.

It’s a pitch n putt course so driving into the rough isn’t really punished a lot of the time.
